Bilstein 5100 Help

Anyone know if I can adjust the level (0-2") with the shocks on the vehicle? Had my dealer install them, told them to do it at the 2" setting, but of course they didn't. Could take it back and have them fix it, but would rather not deal with the hassle. It took them two days to get them on in the first place, made a huge issue about how difficult it was. Good thing is there is no rub with the new tires (Nitto Terra Grapplers 285/55r22) even without it leveled. Thanks.

With the 5100s, the leveling adjustments are made by adjusting the height of the the lower spring perch by moving a ring upon which it seats to a different groove in the strut assembly before compressing and installing the the coil spring over the strut assembly. Basically, your guy has to go back and: remove the struts, remove the coils, move the spring perch higher and then reverse all of these steps. Bilsteins are no more work than normal strut replacements except that the springs will have to be compressed slightly more when using them for lift. Maybe you'd have better luck getting him to do a free install on a set of Autospring (or comparable) 2" spacers on top of the coils for you with a complementary toe adjustment--then you would gain the lift you want without putting more compression into the coils and maintain your current ride. It would cost you another $72 bucks or so for parts, and since you already paid thru the nose for the Bilsteins, it's your call.
