Thanks for the parts info. My truck is a '10 FX4 and I thought I read here some where that the U-bolts can be reused when removing the blocks on 2010 4x4 models??

Well I put a halt to my plans to remove the blocks cause I discovered a sqeak in the rear suspension when I jump on the bed. So I made an appointment tomorrow for the 10K service (oil change and tire rotation)and will have them inspect the leaf springs then. Just have a gut feeling they would have blamed the squeak on the missing blocks if I had removed them, so I'll wait to see what they tell me.

So I was at the dealer for my 10K service (oh btw, do all service reps think that all customers don't have a mechanical clue about vehicles?) and they couldn't check the squeaky rear suspension because "the suspension guy is tied up on another job". So asked if he can come out for 2 minutes just to confirm the noisy suspension and then I'll book another appointment to have it looked at more closely. In a nut shell they said he couldn't and that I have plenty of time to deal with this if its under warranty.

Anyway I go over to the parts dept. to get a price on the shorter U-bolts WOW they wanted $20/each. Checked the TASCA link from greencrew (thanks again) and thats much more like it $10.27/ea however it notes the years 04 to 08 will they still work for my 2010?

YOU DON'T NEED THE SHORTER BOLTS, after the blocks come out just run the nuts up and forget it! There is 2 inches of threads below the nut and still threads above the nut also......................................

worst comes to worse, take an angle grinder and cut the excess off of the bolts, then take a piece of tool steel sharpener and take the burrs off the edges

jls: what size and brand leveling kit did you finally end up going with? I installed a 2" ProComp and 4wd struts on my 2wd and am having some issues with the coils hitting the spindles and UCA's during suspension extension.

I have the AS 1.5" (1.25" actual spacer height) Level Kit and the 04-08 OEM Rear blocks (1 7/8"). I went from 36.75" front fender height to 39" and 39" rear fender height to 40.5" after the alignment.

Yes, I too have the coil and uca issue and I'm not happy about it, I understand AS now offers an "offset" spacer that eliminates this problem.

Your truck looks sweet! New tires coming? Looks like you could fit 35s under there.

Thanks, I'm eventually going to go with the 305/55/20's.
