I would look for the numbers that we don't know such as hp, tq and fuel economy numbers to come out at the Texas State Fair later this month.

Maybe a reg. cab performance version?? On the axle availability table (page 11), the 3.5EB is listed on the reg cab section! And has the (P) on the 3.73 gearing, meaning "packaged option"

ahh...spoke too soon. It only mentions a max tow package with the EB in reg cab trim.

Do we know if the 3.5EB requires premium octane?

That would nullify the cost savings from the better mileage.

It's probably recommended but not required.

Don't concern yourself with that. The 2011 will look virtually identical to the 2009/2010 models. Only a die-hard F-150 fan would be able to tell the difference. So if you're looking to get a great deal on a 2010, don't worry about the 2011's, same body style.

The EB may not be available in a reg cab/short bed 2wd, but the 5.0L will be nothing to sneeze at in that configuration. It will be a quick truck, and an excellent platform for a street/sport truck with a lowering kit and a supercharger.

wow. just did some research... the 3.5 ecoboost puts out less power than the 5.0 and they say that it tows 1500 lbs more?! Ford is really tryiing to sell a more fuel efficient vehicle I guess. I think Im going to save my cash for a '11 Race Red STX Supercab 4x4 with the 5.0.... plus im fairly certain that the aftermarket will lean more towards performance parts for the 5.0, 6.2, and 3.7... That 5.0 is already a beast in the new stangs. I feel like a kid that saw his parents wrapping the christmas presents.. haha.

What's your source for EB numbers? Ford hasn't released them yet, so you must have some real insight.

With the 3.5 EB in the Taurus SHO already (albeit it with a few minor differences), I would imagine the aftermarket for the EB in the truck will be plenty strong. Everyone is talking about the EB like it's going to be the bastard stepchild - I'm gonna laugh if it turns out to be the superstar of the four engine options...

You're probably going by the numbers in the Taurus/Flex which put out 350 hp. The number will be higher in the F150 because the RWD platform can withstand more power than the AWD system in the cars. 3.5 EB will have higher numbers than the 5.0; similar to the 6.2l.

Finally read the order guide and made a list of some of the updates over the ‘09:

- all new engines

- EcoBoost, along with a 3.7, 5.0 and 6.2

- new SelectShift transmission

- best in class fuel economy (estimated at least 17 city, 24 hwy, or about 21 averaged) all the while getting approximate 400hp/400trq (simply amazing!) and a 11,300 lb towing capacity

- the most powerful half-ton on the market

- all new brakes (courtesy of 2010)

- electric power steering

- e-locker across almost all models, not just FX4

- off-road package

- customizable lcd productivity dash screen – this is “the game changer”

- power-sliding rear window with defrost (courtesy of 2010)

- telescoping wheel

- integrated key fob

- factory remote start

- for the FX4 – black surround heads and tails, body colored handles, new grille, wheels, non-chrome running boards

- spray-in bedliner

- 110v inverter in the center console

- perimeter alarm

- auto up/down windows

- SuperCrew Raptor

- more high strength steel, etc.

- to be continued as we learn more

No, the interior lighting will not change from pink to purple with green flowers in the dash and you won’t have an idiot light telling you there is a car in another lane. But the changes are serious and substantial! I am impressed

Something I thought was a bit humorous was Ford listed the FX trucks only get a black leather wrapped steering wheel. At first I was thinking that would kind of suck, until it dawned on me the only interior color option for the FX was black. The way it is presented in the order sheet makes it seem somehow a lower standard than the color matching steering wheel in higher models.
