20" Pirelli tire problems???

I was just reading on a different forum that there is a problem with the 20" Pirelli tire's that come with the 2010 trucks. Apparently it affects the ride/control during higher speeds? Anyone heard of this? Will the dealership switch tires brands if buying a new truck?

I heard they can get flat spots while sitting for a while but that's all I have heard about them. Pirelli makes some good tires, I'm happy with mine.

I have the Goodyear LT's on my truck, 4500km and one of them is coming apart. The tread it separating.

No surprise, I have never had any luck with Goodyear tires.

Thank you tire warranty.

The only negative I have heard about the Scorpions is traction in rain/snow.

The Pirelli's on my Expedition ride real nice. Not one problem. I would recommend them.

I had pirelli's on my 07 Harley Davidson and the traction in rain (especially Heavy rain) was absolutely horrible. Last week I had Nitto's put on and couldn't be happier.

I've got the 20" Pirelli's and I'm starting to put a bug in the ear of my dealer about them. I have them rotated with every oil change and still the vibration they cause is something else. I told them about the passenger seat shaking like crazy even on smooth roads, so they want to take a look at it. I've read others on here say that changing the tires out for a different brand cured the problem.

i am doing pretty good with my 20" pirellis. ride is smooth and no vibrations. dont even feel any flat spots when the truck sits and with my job it can sit for up to 4 days. traction in the rain has been a non issue as well and ive had to go swimmin on some rainy days around here for the past few months. probably to the point where i would buy someones low mileage set they take off to replace with upgrades just to have the next set lying around ready and waiting.

i also have the 20" pirelli tires and 12000 mi. on them. i rotated them once and no vibrations nice smooth ride and i keep them at 35 psi. the issue of ride/ control problems at high speeds that you read in another forum makes no sense which forum is this also i have not had any flat spots with these tires and truck sets for over a week sometimes.

Perelli Tires on 2010 150

Purchased demonstrator 150 with 20 inch Perelli tires. Truck had sit in showroom for 5 months. Worst new truck experience ever. Dealer suggested I put 3000 miles on it to get tires back in shape. Bounced down the road. Just terrible. Dropped truck off at dealer tonight and it is theirs until they get it right. Has anyone else found a solution?

I have the 20" Pirellis on my 2010 F150 FX2... I think they are outstanding... I had a 09 XLT with Hancook tires whick I switched out for Michelins... The truck bounced til the day I traded it, I had tires road forced balanced, rotated, everything..... So far Pirellis are good !!!! They do have highway tread, dont know if that makes a diff....

Get a warranty from Discount Tire. I think mine cost $90 to cover all four tires.

There have been a ton of posts about the poor quality of the OEM 20 inch Pirelli tires on the F-150's. Most of the complaints center around flatspotting and vibration issues. Don't hold this against Pirelli. They built a spec tire for Ford. In other words, Ford wanted a cheap tire and that is what Pirelli built them.

I have the 20" Scorpions on my 2011 and have the same problem with the passenger seat shaking like crazy. Time to visit the dealer.
