DIY spray-in/roll-in bed liner

Does anyone know if there is a DIY spray-in/roll-in bed liner out there, and if so what are the cost? Also has anyone ever done this? Is it hard?

Please don't try to do it yourself. Those products are just barely thicker than paint. If a Line-X or a Bed Rug is not in the budget now, go ahead and scratch it up and do the Line-X later, to make it look like new again.

they are all a waste of money, so save up for a line-x- rhino etc...

You are definitely better off having the pros do it than yourself. My son tried it and though it looked ok it lasted just about along as it did to apply it. The first time you throw a 50lb cinder block in the back it will chipped. You are better off to save up the funds and do it right once. Its forever. Good luck.

You can get a kit from Auto Zone for $90-$100 for a gallon of liner. I put it on the bed of my John Deere Gator and a year later it was chipped really bad. A friend of mine does Rino liner and he stripped and did the bed for me. That was 3 years ago and no chips.

I did the Herculiner in my '01 F150. What junk. I ended up spending just as much re-coating it every year than if I would have just got it professionally done. I went Line-X this time around.

The kits are all based upon the amount of prep work involved and then even if you get it to stick, the life of it is not nearly as long.

I made the mistake of trying this in my '07. Please, please don't do this yourself. I was lucky enough to find an OEM bedliner to cover up the mess. <facepalm/> In order to fix this correctly I'm going to need to sandblast the bed to get it all out and re-paint or spray it. So much more work to fix it than to save up and to it right.
Live and learn though....

I used the Rustoleum brand on my garden trailer. I bought it because the can was dented and it was 1/2 price. I did this about 3.5 years ago. I prepped it like crazy and applied per the directions. It is not very thick - kind of like sandy gooey paint when applied. I did apply the amount that was supposed to cover an entire truck bed to an 18 cubic foot trailer in multiple coats. It has held up very well to use around the yard - pitch forks digging mulch out, etc., but this was on a $400 garden trailer, not a $40,000 truck. For that I let the professionals do the job.
