I didn't realize that. Is there just the one screw to undo on the back, or is there additional procedures needed to get the key apart?

Yep, just the 1 screw, just as if you were going to change the battery. It is really easy to do and looks way better than wire or some other fixes.

Did you ever get it? How long did it take to get it? Whats the quality like and how hard was it to program? Been thinking of buying one and found this thread. That is the seller I was looking at too. Thanks

Here is one just like this one, but cheaper.....:http://www.ebay.com/itm/300667689750...84.m1439.l2649 got mine today, programmed and working great. Only one problem, you will have to take the blade (key) off to get it cut. It's not a problem, there is a very tiny roll pin that holds it on just find a very small punch to remove it. Took the 'blade' and a good key to the dealer and they cut it for free. It works great!!

I found that if you remove the little ford symbol there are 2 little phillips head screws there remove them and the key shank will come right out then looking at the shank there are tiny phillips heads screrws you remove them and there you have just the key shank. I then took it back to the dealer to have it cut and with no problems I might add. Get home reassimble the key to the fob and presto its as good as new. I did the programing my sefl in the drive way it took about 10-15 min total asper the Ford owners Manual and so far it seems to work great.. I'll report back in a week to update on the flip key..
Well here is a 2 year update. Still working like a champ II just replaced to batt for the first time in 2 years last week and no problems..
