That's awesome! Ordering one now.

Not sure how to ask this question... Does anyone know if it will be recognized by the automatic adjust seat/mirror memory function? Its nice that the truck knows which key fob is unlocking the car and adjusts the seats and mirrors accordingly. I really want the flip key but that could be a deal breaker for me.

I found that if you remove the little ford symbol there are 2 little phillips head screws there remove them and the key shank will come right out then looking at the shank there are tiny phillips heads screrws you remove them and there you have just the key shank. I then took it back to the dealer to have it cut and with no problems I might add. Get home reassimble the key to the fob and presto its as good as new. I did the programing my sefl in the drive way it took about 10-15 min total asper the Ford owners Manual and so far it seems to work great.. I'll report back in a week to update on the flip key..
Well its been just alittle over a month with the flip key and iam happy to report the flip key is still working as good as it did when i first got it.. So I have to say its one of the best $58 dollars I spent on flee-bay yet.

Hi all..

Unfortunately, when I got my 03 F150 a couple of months ago, it only came with one aftermarket key with it and no fobs at all.

So, I'm kind of screwed into taking the truck to the dealer to have another key cut. However, I do like the idea of this flip key w/fob on it. But it seems like when I look at them on eBay, they list them for 05 & up F150's.

Will they work on an 03 F150? I'd hate to spend the money, take the flip key to the dealer to have it programmed and find out that I can't use it.

Thanks!
Mat

Just wanted to update everyone on my recent flip key off ebay. Some were taking the fob apart to get the key blade out, but if you look at the base of the blade where it pivots there are two small screws you can take out (at least on mine their were) to pull the blade out to be cut. Makes it easier to cut at some places.

Also, I got my key cut at Ace hardware and they did, lets say a soso job at it. I gotta wiggle it sometimes in the ignition. But good news I emailed the ebay seller and he said he would send me two new blades (since again you can unscrew the blade for keying) for just $6 shipping. So at least he's a fair seller (unless I update you guys that he took my paypal money and ran with it of course).

The key programmed easilly and so did the key fob. Now i have three admin keys.

I've got one of the flip keys from Ebay. It worked fine for months. I found it occasionally lost its ability to unlock/lock my doors. I changed the battery several times but that was not the problem. A simple reprogram fixed it. Finally though I got tired of reprogramming it all the time. Now it sits on the shelf soon to be in the garbage. I'm using the Ford key.

This is the one I have. It is from Artiway on Ebay

I recently pulled the trigger on this remote. I got mine off eBay, from the same guy, Artiway. Shipping was right under two weeks. I went today and had the key cut. I do NOT recommend bringing it anywhere other than a locksmith/lock shop. They have special machines that they insert the key in, and it will cut it according to the year/make/model of your vehicle. The reason I recommend this is, if wherever you take the key, messes it up, you are out $60. Also, once the key is cut, put it in your ignition, and try to turn it on. If it goes to the on position, the cut is good(remember, it will not start the engine until your program it, but it will turn the vehicle on).

After getting it cut, I just followed the instructions that Artiway provided. The instructions were short, sweet, and to the point. They provided everything you need, and nothing more. In less than two minutes actual time I had the entire thing programmed, and it works like a charm.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the function of the device, it is top quality. I also like that there is a Ford emblem on the back of it as well. The only concern I had, which I voiced earlier, was adding a key ring to it. Well, I located a tiny keyring flashlight I had, and removed the ring from it. The ring was the EXACT size it needed to be for this remote. It was fairly tough to get on, but once I did, it worked great as well. Here are some pictures:

I got the same key, got it cut at the local hardware store for 5 bucks. Works great.

My truck is an 09. My Ford key is just a key not the remote key like in the pic. The flip key I got is the one shown in the pic. Also got tired of the huge 10-20 ft range of the flip key. My ford remote works from 100 ft or so.

Hmmm, got to test out the distance, didn't think about that. I don't think my oem one goes all that far to begin with.

Vecte -

Would you tell me what flashlight you got your key ring from? I bought one of these flip keys and it works great, but I need to attach my tonneau key to it somehow. I tried a key ring from a mini-MagLite (the 1 AA kind) but made a mess of the ring trying to get it on the flip key. Any help and suggestions you may have would be very welcome!

Interesting solution using the dog tag chain. I'll dig through my gear and see if I have any to try.

Not sure of the exact name of this feature or when Ford introduced it on the F150's or if it is available on other trim levels, but my 2010 Platinum has a function where you can program each individual FOB to adjust the seat/steering wheel/mirrors to a specific driver. The unlock button on my FOB adjusts everything to my setting before I get in and the same goes for the FOB my fiance uses. Anyone know if these flip out keys can be programmed the same way?

You will have to split the key apart to insert the chain but it works great!
