How tall are the rear blocks on your 09-10 F150?

Hey guys,

just wondering how tall the rear blocks are on your truck. I crawled under mine a few weeks ago to take a look and on my 2009 FX4 SCREAW (6.5ft box) the rear blocks are only 1.5" tall? Didn't think this was right.

My dads blocks on his truck (05 FX4) are 2".

Anyone have anything different on their 09-10?

The new body style seems to ride lower than the '04-'08 models. My 4x4 Lariat is barely distinguishable from a 4x2 in terms of lift.

The easiest way to get a little extra lift on the front to level your truck is to crank your torsion bars just a little. Works great and takes only a minute.

Ford hasn't used torsion bars since 2003. My rear blocks measure 1.25". I replaced them with 3" blocks. The truck is nose down again but it does looks like a truck should. Slightly raked.

Remember ford went to longer springs in 09 so perhaps with that the blocks need not be as tall? Just a thought....

My rear blocks were just over an inch. I have a forth leaf in my springs with the max tow. I was wondering if the blocks are taller without the forth leaf?

And yes I believe the new models seem to run lower.

I was just wondering if there was a varience between 09 trucks since I though my truck would have had a 2" rear blcok. Since I saw it was a 1 and a bit I thought I would ask. My 09 FX4 with 2.5" leveling kit sits so incredibly nose high it hurts to look at now that I have my winter rims back on. I have a buddy installing my procomp add-a-leaf right now and he is thinking there might not be enough room to even install the leaf without a new U-bolt. I will see what he did when I get home. I Do have a 3" block at home waiting to go on my dads 05 Fx4, so I might Just steel his 2" stock block when I put his in, Will need new U-bolts for sure that way.

Little update, I posted this in a new thread, but the Add-a-leaf is by far the way to go over new blocks with the standard 3 leaf pack, IMO. Ride is totally firmed up, but not stiff. No more nasty nose dive on hard stops, perfectly leveled now with a 2.5" AS level and a more positive reacting truck. I thought this thing was a little slow reacting and slushy in the rear before. Supper happy.

Also, there is only just enough room for the new leaf on the U bolts. After install, there is about 1/8" past the nut.
