factory installed remote starts

If I would have ordered a factory installed remote start when I ordered my 2010 Lariat, would the key fob have been an all-in-one, with just an extra button on it?

yep, one-button fob so you would have to carry 2 fobs around. The solutions are either:

1. get the Ford Fusion key with intergrated keyless entry buttons and then just have the 1-button remote starter fob attached to that.
2. have your dealer install the Ford 6-button fob remote start with alarm and keyless entry system. Everything is all-in-one fob.
3. Get an aftermarket system with an all-in-one fob.

I'm a little confused, would I have one fob with door locks, panic button and remote start button, or a separate fob with the remote start alone?

Sorry

There are two systems, one with the separate key fob with Rstart alone, the other is a six button all in one.

Then there is the aftermarket route...which is much better, especially if you want security with your remote start. I personally would not trust any dealer to install any type of remote start system in my vehicle, youd be suprised at the rats nest that they leave under neath there, and the shoddy methods they use.

When i bought my 2009 f150 xlt it had the remote start on it. It had two fobs, one for door and stuff and one for remote start. I had them install the factory alarm insisting on a single fob for everything. I got the six button fob. with a life time warranty on the fobs. The problem i have with remote start is, sync looses my phone every time i use the remote start. I have to reprogram sync every time to see the phone.

Just hit the phone button when you get into the truck for it to connect. When the truck starts up and doesn't find a phone in a couple minutes it stops looking. So you need to reinstate it's search by hitting the phone button either on the steering wheel or on the dash.

Thank you for the info on the phone and Sync. I will have to try that. I went to the dealer 12/18/09 and asked service about the problem and no one had a clue what to do about it, so i thank you for the solution.
