'09 F150 Back Up Sensors

Does anyone know how to turn off the backup sensors when you're hauling a trailer and then need to back up. With a trailer attached they beep constantly.

umm, the button that looks like a P-with sonar waves is how you turn them off on the 04-08's, I would assume it's pretty close to the same in the 09-10's.

When you are in reverse look at the message center display, it will say "reverse sensing system <on> / off.....hit the trip reset button to change it.

Thanks, that is what I was getting at: if you have an 09 and it came properly equipped, it would have a manual. Pls read. If for nothing else, when one looks up stuff like this, you end up stumbling upon other nuggets in the manual that are helpful too.

Thanks

P.S. also in park you can reset

It's even more fun when you have the reverse camera and sensors with the tailgate down...

Not sure if the F150 does it this way, but in our 08 Explorer, each time you put the trans in reverse the option to turn off the reverse sensors shows up on the message center screen.

I can understand the beeps still working with the 4 pin connector, but if it still beeps with the 7 pin pluged in then something is wrong with your system. It automaticlly disables when the 7pin is pluged in

Not true, the type of plug has absolutely nothing to due with it. The only way to disable is through the message center reset button in the IP.

Well guess what ........... I can find nothing in the owners manual about that. As far as the message center, I never looked at that, I was watching where I was backing. I'll be sure to check the message center next time.

You were a BIG 'help'

Sensor

My 09 Platinum with my trailer pluged into the round 7pin plug automatically turns the sensors off. If I unplug the trailer the sensors turn back on. But you can also turn them off as described in early posts
