Ford remote start automatic shut off

I have the Ford remote start, with the separate fob on my 09. Does anyone know how to change the default automatic shut off from 10 min to 15? I did a quick search but didn't find anything.

So I tried your link and when I searched nothing came up. Site must be down or something.

Are these the same instructions that you emailed me a while back? Seems like the 09 instructions didn't include anything on changing the time setting.

Thanks, I already have that document and it doesn't tell you how to change that particular setting.

I thought I read somewhere, that you have to have the dealer reprogram it.

I have the same remote start as you and I don't really like it. It shuts off when you open the door and only runs for about 15 minutes... I took it to the dealer to get reprogrammed and they said they couldn't do anything about it. It not that bad but it's annoying. I should be able to open the door and put the key in the ignition without it turning off...

I can open the door and put the key in without it shutting down. No problems there. Mine is an 09 so I don't know if that would make a difference. I would like it to run 15 minutes instead of the default 10, because it takes the truck a while to warm up, and it isn't really cold here yet.

That's because of MyKey - if you have your dealer disable the MyKey option (which is to set a key with a max speed, radio volume, etc), then the remote start won't shut off if you open the door.

ok, sorry I wasn't more specific. You need to find the 2007-up "Base" file, it's an older file. For some reason those newer 09/10 files have very generic programming instructions and don't list all of the option bank settings.

On that link, goto Install Instructions--->Electronics--->Remote Start/Vehicle Security System -Base

From there it give you 2 files to pick, choose the "Security & Remote Start (2007 Model Year Vehicles)--Base" file.

In that file, the basic 1-button remote start "RMST" programming options are on Pages 28 and 29. You need to access Option Bank 2, option 3 to change the run time.

Hopefully your installer mounted the black program/valet button in an accessible spot.

Did the reprogramming this weekend. The instructions for the 2007 Model worked perfectly. Thanks again Steve for the link. For anyone who wants to try it; you will need access to the override button and the LED. Both are connected to the harness.

^good to hear. yeah sometimes they don't mount those 2 things so you have to look under your dash to find them.

Steve: I have the 7l2j-19g367-AA remote module in my Ford escape.
I have downloaded and read thorough the various threads. My only question is do I have the model with banks 1 and 2 or the one with banks 1-5? If I have the 1-2 banks model then it looks like I only need to change bank 1, option 1 - door trigger polarity and option 3 - key in sense polarity. If I have the model with 1-5 banks then under bank 1 i need to change option 4 - door adjar switch input inverter, option 5 - unlock switch input inverter, 6 - key in sense input inverter. Under bank 2, option 7 - door adjar entry input. Doe this make sense? Finally will I have to re-program the incoded keys for the anti-theft measures? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
