2009 Paint Problems

I used to work at a foreign car dealership, so we had cars coming in from all across the world basically. Some of them were absolutely littered with the "freckles" aka rail dust. A quality clay bar, and some quick detailer spray is the best bet to remove it. Just do yourself a favor, cut the clay bar in half or thirds when you get it, and put the unused portion back in the container...because you WILL DROP IT. And once it hits the ground, even for a split second...it is junk, so no point in blowing $20+ on an entire claybar when you can get away with using a half or third of one (depending on the size you like to work with). I have tried many different kinds, mothers, adams, megs, etc...and I went back for more adams. They are all pretty similar in quality, but I liked the adams with their quick detailer spray the best.

On a side note, perhaps Obama's bullet trains will be spotless & shiny, finally eliminating that issue. Then again, if it's just passenger trains, maybe not. Never mind they won't actually go across the entire country and actually be very useful as it is.

This happens to ALL vehicles. It's just the most noticeable on white trucks. Same thing happened to mine when new. I freaked out just as everyone does. Then I realized it was only rail dust and it comes right out with the use of a clay bay.
It's just tiny slivers of metal that get stuck in the clear coat. Eventually, they start to rust. It has nothing to do with the paint or the sheet metal on the truck.
This is completely common and nothing to worry about. Clay the truck every spring and you'll be all set.
Keeping a good coat of wax on the truck at all times also helps a ton.
Also, do not listen to "shotgunz"
