2009 Paint Problems
2009 Paint Problems
Well guys i just got done washing the truck tonight and WOW...
I am looking at little tiny specs of rust ALL over the hood and roof. It looked like dust/dirt, upon washing the truck and scrubbing with ever living F*#( out of the hood with my sponge and microfiber, it's still there. I know everyone will want some pics. I will take some tomorrow when the sun comes up..
My question is anyone else with a new 09 F150 have this problem? My truck is an Oxford white 4x4 Lariat.
How i am feeling right about now..
So i drove to the dealership after i was done. Furious the entire drive over there
I think i threw about a half can of Cope in my lip!!!
They said they could not do anything until monday. I figured that much! They did tell me that they would do everything to make it right.
I am thinking the hood and entire roof will need to be re-painted. A few small other areas as well...
AGAIN!!
So that's where i am sitting with my brand new truck tonight!!

You happen to know the name or what kind of "Special" cleaner the dealerships use?
I don't know what the dealer uses, but a clay bar would be the best thing to take it off rather than scrubbing the paint so hard with other towels that you end up with a million swirl marks in the paint your first week.
Yeah i wasn't using towels. I have a regular vehicle sponge and a microfiber sponge.. I wanna keep my paint looking nice!

I just bought an oxford white 2009 in September. I rolled it out into the sunlight this morning to check the hood and roof closely. So far, no sign of anything resembling StickyF150's description.

hope over to the detailing forum and do a bit of reading about proper washing and drying techniques.
I would never let the dealership touch the paint on one of my vehicles.
