Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! I researched all this before buying used 2004 FX4 rims for winter. Just installed them and the fronts rub. I wouldn't mind so much but I spend some $$$ on tires and TPMS and lugnuts not to mention a real hassle to get this stuff.

So now I do a search and I find this thread. You guys suck. Why didn't you have this thread earlier??? Just kidding about you guys sucking though .

Just buy a 1/4 spacer for each front wheel and problem solve

7$ CND a peace.

Can you post a picture of the rims that you are having trouble with. I bought 2008 FX4 18" rims to use on my 2009 FX4 with winter tires. The rims look almost identical, with some small subtle differences in the spokes, and the backspacing is identical to the rims on my 2009. Just wondering if you have the same rims or different ones, and if I should be expecting any problems. This is a picture of the rims I got

Pat, where do you buy the spacers? I'm from Alberta BTW.

Scottsherriffs, that IS the wheel in question. Backspacing, etc is all the same as an 09 wheel but the fronts still hit the caliper.

Can anyone confirm then that the Lariat style 18" wheels from 2004-2008 will fit the 2009? I ask becuase I can exchange my FX4 wheels for Lariat wheels if I want, and I might prefer doing that over using spacers. Pat, did you use spacers on just the front wheels or on all 4 wheels?

scottsherriffs, it's the same exact wheel. I posted a picture here https://www.f150online.com/forums/3945766-post6.html

Just needed spacer for the front, the back is fine.

All you need is a 1/4'' spacer and you're all set. Could go with less, but 1/4'' is perfect. Enough place to feel good and not enough to change the look of the truck.

Turkey I bought the spacer from Evolution Performance in Gatineau, Quebec. I think it's to far from you Just go to a local tire shop or performance shop and they'll have some or can order some.

The one on the bottom left are exactly what i have. http://www.customwheelaccessories.com/SPACERS-2006.html

They have it here for 5$ a peace. http://customwheel.com/custom_wheels....php/cPath/384

Pat, did the Ford dealer give you any grief about using a wheel spacer? I'm not concerned at all about using a 1/4" spacer but I don't want the dealer to be able to blame any potential future problems in the front end (suspension, steerig, etc) on the spacer.

It's the dealer that did the insllation.

Shouldn't have any problem with them. It's pretty much the same thing as putting aftermarket wheel with less backspacing then stock.

Bought these at a local Van and Truck accessory store in Waterloo, ON. They were take-off rims (They look a little dirty in the picture but they actually look like brand new). I'm not sure if I am going to get the 1/4" spacers neceesary to use these on my 09 F150 or switch to a different rim.

Well, I have been unsuccessful in finding wheel spacers where I live. I don't have the time to wait two weeks to order some online. Right now I am fed up with the whole thing and am tempted to just sell the whole set, buy some GY Duratracs at the local shop, and be done with it.

BTW, I bought my wheels off of someone on Kijiji.

Think I may have figured out why some seem to fit and others don't. Brake wear. As brakes get worn, the caliper will be pulled inward a bit. I have about 10k on my truck, so that may have been enough wear to give me the clearance. °°Pat°°, how many miles on your dad's truck?

Nothing to do with the caliper itself, since it rub on the caliber support. So worn break won't change anything.

You could take off the caliper and it would still rob.

And the truck have 7000km max on it.

That where it rub, red ''circle''

Picture of my rim (Sorry for the waiting time)

Then my guess was wrong. That's what happens when you think about something at 3am. Still no problems with my 17" wheels. They are close, but no rubbing.
