Lariat vs FX4 Lux
Lariat vs FX4 Lux
If you get an FX4 Loaded up with the lux package, what is still missing/not available vs a loaded Lariat? Last three trucks have been Lariats, but I like the locking diff on the FX4. (rear seat armrest, anything else?)
The FX4 has the 4.10 rear end if I recall Correctly. It has rancho shocks and black head lights I believe as well. Basically it will have a more aggressive ride dude to the FX4 package but still luxurious from my observations.
Not sure about the 4.10 rear end but I do know that mine did not come with black headlights. One thing I know that is not available on the FX4, COOLED SEATS
Do not know why. Those would have been great here in El Paso.

the 3 main things the FX4 Lux will still not have that a Lariat does:
-message center/computer with 3 extra buttons on the center dash to control it
-lighted vanity mirrors on the back of the sun visors
-Homelink garage door opener
those were the main differences back on the 07-08 models as well, although back then the FX4 luxury did have the dark grey headlights and paint to match grille - 2 features they have yet to carry over on the 09/10 FX4 luxury model.

Mines loaded, except for the back up camera. The only thing lacking in the FX4 are the cooled seats. They are heated but not cooled. The FX4 does have the 3.73 locking rear diff. I think the Lariat would have a 3.55. If you are upsizing tires, I would go with the FX4 for the gears. My '06 struggled with 35s until I got my tuner. The FX4 seems to handle the 35s better. I cant wait for Edge to release their tuner for the 09. That should really wake it up.

How the heck did your FX4 get those? Not that it was a deal breaker for me, but my FX4 Lux package didn't come with those and the first time I looked at those mirrors I thought, "how cheap."
Cooled seats, rear arm rest, Homelink, seat leather pattern is different, Message center is different (but all functions are the same, simply different control buttons), FX4 comes with standard rubber floor mats, rear end (of course), and ground clearance at first cross member. All different in the two trucks.

I just like the "sporty' version of the FX4 versus the Lariat. I sure didn't like the wood grain. I've driven many years without the cooled seats, so I think I can do without those. You gotta get what is best for you!
