Lariat vs FX4 Lux
You can get the 3.73 LSD in any 4x4 F-150 with the max tow package. On road, LSD better. Off road, locker better. Ride height/ground clearance is the same for all 4x4 F-150's when equipped with the same overall diameter tires.
The two are trim packages, meaning styling. Most F-150 owners choose FX4 or Lariat based on the looks.

"The third cross-member runs under the frame, directly below the driver’s feet. It protects the transmission and transfer case from offroad obstacles and has been boxed for added trailer-towing capability. It sits lower than the same cross-member in the 2004-08 F-150 because Ford seated the driveline lower to remove the second-row hump that’s normally caused by the driveline running under the cabin floor. When you look at profile shots of the F-150, you can clearly see the third cross-member hanging low, even when the truck has side steps.
You’ll notice the impact of this modification in certain offroad situations, especially in standard four-wheel-drive F-150 models (as opposed to the purpose-built FX4 offroad series). We thought we were killing the side steps trying to get over tall obstacles, when we were actually scraping the third cross-member. A Ford engineer at the driving event said one of the durability criteria for the third cross-member was that it had to support the entire weight of the truck (about 5,200 to 5,800 pounds) without reducing clearance between the cross-member and the transmission."

I know there are several trim differences.......and functional differences.......etc. as noted above.
To me the main difference (Lariat to FX4 lux) is you do get the locker in the FX4 and you're stuck with black interior.
Everyone has their own pet pieve.........one of mine is black interior. Had one in my first car and swore ......never again. Way to hot compared to any other interior color.
Not a big deal in some parts of the globe. In south Louisiana......at least to me...it's a big deal.
If I want a locker bad enough ......... I'll put one aftermarket in my Lariat with my tan (cool) interior.
I love the FX4s.........I just love my cool interior more

you're right, comes with the power rear slider. I just reread the order guide and under the option for power rear slider, it says the FX4 and the XLT gets lighted visor mirrors when you select the optional rear slider. I guess whatever harness they use to run the power to the overhead console for the rear slider switch must also control the lighted mirrors, so Ford was nice enough to add those mirrors to the FX4 and XLT for a change...

Really, I thought the same thing. Heck I said I didn't want leather. Being in south Florida its gets plenty hot and every seat I had sat on in other peoples' cars was sticky from back sweat or slippery. When I saw my truck on ebay I drove 2.5 hours to go check it out and the interior is what sold me. The black is so sexy and clean IMO. Not arguing here with ya but my grandmother's F-150 and F-250 have the tan leather and to me it just doesn't belong in the 4wd looking truck I was wanting (hers are 2wd). I guess having 15% tint all around helps the seat heat factor too, but I would never own a car with light colored seats again for stain factors. Funny ain't it how peoples' reasonings for preferences can be so different.

I have the FX4 Lux
I have the power moonroof
I do not have the rear sliding window
I do have the lighted visor mirrors.
X2 here... Same with my FX4 w/Lux pckg
I'm trying to understand where in the USA all this black dirt comes from.
I like the tan because dirt is brown, and smudges are minimized. Tan leather hides dirt well and cleans easily. And then there are rocks and salt that stand out on black for us northerners. I had one black interior vehicle. Eh!
