If people don't like the heads and tails on the 09 they can just buy heads and tails for a raptor, just like the 04-08 guys did with Harley heads and tails. Like me.

 

You missed some earlier posts, it's not just the color and chrome, we do not like how far around the lights extend on the side and the goofy shape. That is the same on the Raptor.

 

I did!!! I have driven 4 different ones now. Interior....Best I have ever seen. Trans.....best I have ever felt in a ford truck. Extra room inside...Great!! I am 6'9"-250lbs. I like the room. 5.4liter.....never had a problem with it anyways!

and then the Exterior.....the Dealbreaker. just cant do it!! By far the worst looking full size pick-up this year!!
30,000 out the door for a fully loaded 2008 FX4......or well over 40,000 for about the same truck in 09'.....with hiddious looking styling. I like my choice.

 

I find it funny when people who own the last gen trucks put it down so much. I don't think the 04-08 look anything spacial and def wouldn't say they look better than the new model. We have 3 04-08 f150's in our family as company trucks and when side by side the 09 looks so much better. Makes the 08's look dated. Like power kid said perhaps you need to see one in person as i thought they looked nice in pictures but when i see it in person my jaw hit the deck. A lot nicer in person i can tell ya. Thats without even driving it. Drive it and you will love it even more. I have had more than 10 f150 owners with trucks from anywhere from 1999-2008, stop and start asking me about it and tell me how nice they think it looks. Nearly all of them didn't even know there was a new f150 out. Also the wheels are maybe some of the nicest wheels i have ever seen. i cant stand chrome so these polished alloy wheels are perfect for me. They suit the other alloy all over the truck. Also find it hard to see any part of the truck that look like a Chevy or Toyota. Every other person who has told me that it don't look as good as the last gen has said that it ain't worth buying as it looks exactly like the last gen. People just seem to be stuck with there old style and find it hard to move on.

 

They must be bending you over seideways if they told you 40k for a FX4. I only paid 41k for a fully loaded Platinum.

 

Honestly, if they were the SAME PRICE......I would take the 08 and run. I was REALLY hoping when I finnially saw one and drove it, I would be sold.......WRONG. They are actually UGLIER in person. My "jaw hit the floor" too!! It was a big dissapointment. The price was never the problem as I was ready to spend whatever they wanted......until I saw it. I got rid of the 04' and got another 08'.

I have yet to hear one person around my area say....." Man, those new F-150 look nice"........NOT ONE PERSON. I am not "stuck on the old stuff", just think the "new stuff" looks ****ty. And THOUSANDS of die hard FORD boys agree.

Ford has always made the toughest, best looking truck on the road..........now they just make the toughest!

 

My sentiments exactly. My plans were to buy an 09 late in the model year, as my 05 will have about 100,000 on it, but when I saw the first pics, I said, don't think so, maybe I will wait. When I saw one in person, I said no way. People like different things and that's a good thing. Some like it, I'm just not one of those. If I really needed a new truck now, I would buy an 08, but mine is doing just great, so I will keep it.

 

I saw them. The Raptor lights look much much better even if they are the exact same shape.

 

Barritia, You said 41k. Was your truck a 4x4, what options and did that include the 2k discount from Ford.
I am curious about the remote start issue. I had a dealer say yes first,and change answer later. I think they will try to sell dealer installed. We will see.

Just something to add. Remember when super duty came out. It was a like it hate it thing. Guys here are saying hate the chrome or aluminum like the dark or black out look. There are some oldschool truck people here who remember or owned trucks from the 70's and 80's when they had low chrome and wheel well moldings. Chrome or stainless steel mirrors.( West coast style for towing) and this is a big one and why I like the Platinum, Aluminum tailgate. All make trucks had them on tailgate for mid and top level packages. It has gotten very old with just a painted tailgate and small emblem with Ford, Chevrolet or Dodge. Yes I am an AMERICAN TRUCK GUY. Great comeback for Ford, it's called STYLE. You know it's a FORD soon as you see it. That is why you can buy different packages and aftermarket items so you make it yours. Just my thoughts.

 

Wow, you guys sound like a bunch of haters. I've never known anyone whose bought a new vehicle based off of it's taillights? Let's forget about the new 6-speed, refined and improved interior, best in class towing, more powerful 5.4....it's those damn taillights that make or break this truck. Give me a break! I for one am going to enjoy my 09 FX4 supercrew....and the only people affected by my hidious tail lights will be those behind me.

Never has there been more people that disliked a model than this years F-150. Look at some of the poll numbers and read some of the articles......I am not alone. The super duty wasent even close, and that thing dont look like a super duty....it look like a SuperChevYota mix. Everybody has their own opinion.....thats fine. Just a bit of debating here.....wasent trying to **** ya off.

And its FAR more than the tail lights that suck......and yes......hating the way a truck looks everytime I get into it WILL make me not buy it. Especially when the alternitive, an 08', is a refind version of my 2004.....which I put 200,000 miles on, and loved it.

 

That was with a 3k incentive. It was only 2k but dealer found another 1k from something else that applys to it and yes it's a 4x4 with every option except skid guard, cargo management system and max trailer tow pack. Couldnt find a truck with the exact specs i wanted but it saved me about $1k and i didnt need them bits.

The remote start seems to have conflicting results. Some dealers seem to be saying yes and most saying no. Still ain't heard of one person yet with the remote start on a platinum. The code hoping system for the platinum looks like it may be true.

 

Your gonna tell me an 08 looks better than this? No way.

I've never bought one because i liked the tail lights, but there is one I won't buy because I don't like the tail lights. I have to like the looks of what I drive, and if every time I walk up to my truck, I look at it and think, "damn I hate those tail lights", I would never be happy with it.

I hope you enjoy your truck and I hope Ford sells a ton of them. They just won't sell one to me. That's why they make changes and that is why there are different colors and different brands, people like and dislike different things.
