My truck is not paid off only because I have bought and paid for other things, like our travel trailer, my fiances 05 Focus, my 04 Yamaha Raptor, over $5,000 in tools in the last 2 years and I am currently saving for a new 18/20' enclosed trailer and also a 18' car trailer. Could I have the truck paid off by now, sure. But then I wouldn't have all the other things that I own paid off and all of those would have ALOT higher interest rates and what my truck loan is. Also instead of paying my truck off I have been planning for my and my familys future by investing my money and also setting up CD's, roth IRA's, and just plain putting money away for a "rainy day".
So having just a house and truck payment is pretty darn good.

Paid off 2.5, maybe 3 years ago. Zero debt, although a house is in my near-term future. Trying to save enough to buy outright. I absolutely HATE debt of any kind. If you owe someone money, pay it - my motto. Also been socking max allowed by law away into 401k past 2 years, on track this year too hopefully by end of June (60% into 401k). So yeah, live way below my means but want to retire before I'm old and grey. I could easily buy an '09 outright, but that would put me behind in my home savings. There's the rub... what to do.

My truck is not payed for yet, I have another year and half on it. It does what I need it to do and gets 18mpg on the highway, I am happy as a lark with it.

I've got 4 years left on mine, but I put alot down on it. I just wanted low payments to build my credit. I probably won't have it that long, I'd like to be in a 3/4 ton Diesel in about 3 years. I wouldn't buy it for mileage or power though, the diesel would be for towing the toy hauler. Honestly the 150 does a great job with about 8K, but the 3/4 ton is just nice to have. It's pretty much about what you want, and the say you gotta pay to play, so with towing heavy loads with diesel pickup, comes 5 bucks a gallon for the fuel, then I have to fill the bikes....*sigh* Lol, it's a viscous cycle, but the fun is well worth it!
