At the moment we pay for a $ 50.000,- US truck € 50.000,-
without tax it would be € 33.783,-

I am not saying that the SD is not comfortable. It is very comfortable. I am looking at a 70 mile commute each day x 5 days = 350 miles/ week. With Diesel at 3.50/ gallon it would cost more to run up and down the road than my F-150 does at 2.98/ gallon getting 17-19 MPG. The oil changes are cheaper, filters are cheaper, price overall is cheaper. Wear and tear on a 1/2 ton truck is cheaper to repair. Like I said in my previous post... My F-150 does an outstanding job of the all around truck. It tows 8500# every month in the spring, summer and fall. The SD would do it better without a doubt. The F-150 gets GREAT fuel mileage for a 6000# 4x4. I am not complaining one bit. I just can't see spending more on a 150 than I would on a SD. If the 150 gets bumped up by the diesel option then SIGN ME UP. The current 150 handles all 1200# of tounge weight that I have, without issue. It tows great. I am just a bit over in some parts of the equasion. By a bit I am saying 150#. I simply said that I would not pay more than a SD for a 150, even with the Platinum option and the diesel and the 6 speed. Ford is going in the right direction with the new 150. THey will hit a home run with the diesel option as long as the don't price themselves out of the game.

Platinum

I work the Auto Show in Detroit.I have been there and seen the Platinum, and all the other trucks. The Plat has a cloth interior and tacky stickers on the side.Is that thing supposed to be a luxury ride?I figured it was a step below the FX.

you obviously looked at the wrong truck. The Platinum only comes with leather interior.

Auto show plat.

Yep you are right. It did have Leather. It just wasn't as memorable as the leather on my KR. The one they have there is 2wd.And the stickers are still thick and tacky looking. The doors on these things are longer. No good if you are in a parking lot.I dont know why they are pushing these sunroofs. If i want sun beating on me and wind noise, I would ride the FLHTCUI Harley.I disconnected my sunroof.Ford needs to look at the Toyota while they are there and implement the door sunglass holder they have. The side step is gimicky, I don't want anybody climbing on the side of the bed, scratching it all up.I like the tailgate step, but have to admit I haven't tried it yet.Keep forgetting. The truck does grow on you .When I first looked at it, I wasn't "feeling" it.I like the black grill better than that gaudy chrome thing. They had the red crew cab up on a turntable so I didn't get to sit in that one.I might like the interior better on that one.All in all, I was more excited about the Dodge.Oh well maybe if I worked for Ford still I might feel different. In fact, because of all the job cuts,I may not be buying any new truck for quite some time.My last one is an 07 and the price was 43000.I surely cant afford that kind of money when I have been cut to 20000 a year. And besides that, mine looks totally out dated and it is only a year old.Rides really nice though.Maybe I am just jaded.

...the front doors on the quad cab are the Scab doors...the rears are the same size...that's where the size diff comes from. in the 04-08 the scab front doors were 6" longer than the front doors of quad cab...for 09 they are the same.

I think the platinum is sweet man, I prefer it alot over the king ranch, personally I don't understand why anyone wants weird brown leather in their vehicle, must be some sort of cowboy thing.

I don't know why your having an issue with your sunroof. As far as sun hitting you.... There IS a cover to stop that. As far as wind noise.... do you have windows in your truck? They make more noise than the sunroof when opened. When I close my sunroof in my F-150 it seals tight! Maybe Ford should make the windows fixed in the up position while they are at it!

And as far as '09 Platinum pricing goes, I think the real question is - "How much will Ford give us for our 2004 Lariat's towards a 2009 Platinum?"

The correct question is.... How much will Ford give me for my 04 Lariat on a 2011 FX4 Diesel? That is the only way I would get another 150 Vs a 250. It better have some decent tow capacity and get some MPG's or it's Super Duty for me!
