I haven't seen these yet. Gives a little better look at the front end.

The bed looks ridiculous. Its way too tall, the 08 was pushing it already and this one is over the edge. I think they should take the pre 97 body style and put a more modern twist on it. Now that would be a truck.

^dude, there's padding under that black cover to make the bed look taller.

Did anyone else notice in the one shot of the steering wheel it says "Platinum" on the instrument cluster?

Serious truck users want the deeper bed and they set the tone for what goes in the F-150. There will be a new side step option for the little people out there that don't like it.

Ok, I didn't know that.

I was just voicing my opinion from a style standpoint, not that it looks bad, its just its different from the older body styles. Though if it does get any taller then it is now then it would just look out of place but I guess if you really need it than its a good thing.

I find it is easier to reach stuff in the bed if it isn't as deep, like for instance a gas can or a tool box. I may not be a serious truck user, but most stuff I use my bed for climbing up in the back would be rediculous if you could just reach over the side. My '02's is plenty high in my opinion, and I am am 6'-3". I don't haul enough bags of concrete or mulch to fill up my bed, but it sure is easier to get at chainsaw, a gas can or to unload firewood if there isn't a massive sidewall on the side of the trailer to reach over. Not to mention it gives the truck the styling cues of a concrete block.

The bed on the current F-150 is deeper but it is only 2 inches deeper than your truck. The extra storage capacity in the bed and the cabs being 6" longer are a huge plus. If looks are your thing, no offense but the previous F-150's look a bit whimpy. Again, the side steps (and the rear tailgate step) are going to be options in '09 for folks who need them.

I don't want to make any waves either but the former Heritage design was actually designed for women in mind. True story. The thought was, the Ford marketing department felt that if they appealed to women with a design that they would appreciate more, then it would eventually sell more trucks. The reason for this is that in a typical household (not mine but...) the wife is the main budgeter of the income, so therefore, you get her on your side and the men will follow. Unfortunately, a lot of people agreed that the truck looked too "feminine" which is the reason for the turnaround in the latest generation to make it bigger and more boxy. A good choice in my opinion.

Only 2" deeper but the whole truck is higher as well. I would think they can make a truck look macho without making it look heavy, is it odd that the Super Duty does not have remotely the same look? The front end isn't bad but small windows and huge bed really does nothing for me on the F-150. I can see having it on the Supercrew, but a extended cab or standard cab really doesn't need it the extra capacity. If you need more height they make these funny little holes in the bed called stake pockets.
