Not there. Don't have a sun roof.

Wipers don't seem to move. Bug shield appears to be tight, but I suppose that could be it. I've padded the window shields but that didn't work either. (The front part where they are glued to the door).

I might be able to do that. I am going to put some extra padding between the bug screen and hood and see if that helps.

I think I may have your solution...

I had this issue as well. It was on the driver side. Then I had the windshield replaced and it stopped there and migrated to the passenger side. I also noticed that in warm weather there was no issue, but as soon as it turned cold it would return.

Running down each side of your windshield is a black strip that continues all the way up, over the top of the truck, and stops at the rear of the roof. This strip covers the sides of the windshield and have to be removed each time you have your windshield replaced. There are tiny little black plastic clips that hold this strip down and over time they can become brittle and/or loose and either rattle themselves or allow the black strip of trim to rattle in the wind.

I went to safe-lite (any windshield replacement center will do) and asked if I could purchase some extra as I found out they break these all the time when they replace windshields. The Guy there charged me a small fee for the replacement clips and even showed me the trick for disengaging them.

Was very easy... I *GENTLY* used a small hook tool and a flat head and pryed up on the strip while simultaneously pushing toward the outside of the truck. One by one they popped out of the little channel. I swapped them out....Problem fixed.

If you ask nicely, they may even do it for you.

Good Luck.

I have rattling in cold weather I believe it is the sliding rear window that's is doing it in cold weather.

Thanks, Dman! Just went out and tapped on those strips, and got the kind of sound that I hear when in strong winds.

I'm going to head out to a glass shop and see if I cand get it fixed. (Too cold outside for me to mess with it).

That is exactly what my issue was too. The molding on the side of the windshield. put some double sided tape un the end of the molding and it gone. I suggested this back in November by the way.

Don't think it's on the windshield itself. I think it's the rubber strips that run up the sides of the windshield all the way along the cab to the rear of the cab.
I'm headed to the Ford body shop in the morning and have them check those. When I tap on them, I get the same rattle sound.

Problem solved!

I pulled the trim off the windshield on passenger side, and found only 3 clips there. Ford says there are four. Part one of the problem. Part two: The track on the roof where the trim piece slides into place was loose about 5 inches right at the front end of that track. So, the wind was catching that spot on the trim and causing the rattling. Placed some glue under that track, added some clips under the trim at the windshield (I now have five clips in there instead of the three that were there), and with the front section of the attaching track secured, the noise is gone.

Thanks to a small town body shop, who just gave me the clips, and my son-in-law who did the work, I am a happy camper.

FINALLY!

Drobson,

Glad it all worked out!! And happy the body shop was able to give you the clips.

Like you, I've found if you just ask somebody in the shop for help and tell them what you need...9 times out of 10, they are happy to help.

But glad you were able to correct it. When mine was doing it...IT DROVE ME CRAZY!!!!

It drove me crazy, too, but persistence paid off.

Went to safe lite as suggested in another post on here. The guy replaced the clips or put in clips on each side of the windshield. It worked! Thank you Lord! Whoever put this info on here you're a lifesaver! I've been dealing with this noise for probably 8 years! I bought the truck, 2008 King Ranch Supercrew, brand new. He said it looked as if they didn't fastened the clips at all! Safelite is awesome!

This worked! Thank you Lord! I know this is an old thread but I went to Safelite and the guy knew about the clips. He did mine for free! Super nice guy. He said it looked as if the clips hadn't even been installed right. I bought the truck new in '08. I've been dealing with this for probably 6 or 7 years. Once again thanks Safelite!
