'06 F150 gauges drop & radio stops while driving

All my gauges will drop to zero, radio will shut off while driving for about 1 minute then come right back on to normal. I have yet to try the power windows, or locks, or heat/air blower to see if they lack power. This happened twice, within 10 minutes during a 20 min drive down the highway. The last time it happened my alternator failed and I ran out the battery trying to get home. Thus, Brand new alternator, recharged 1 yr old battery, new belt, new pully and idler. I have had a full tuneup on the truck at 110,000 miles, it has 130,000 now. Only other work on the truck was a recent addition of a ultra flow muffler, with dual exhaust after. It's an aftermarket that meets all factory sensors/settings. Could the battery be bad, I've also heard a ground issue maybe? Only other problem with the truck is that the drivers window takes a second to go up, just have to hold the button down.

Funny, I am searching for a resolution to the same problems on my truck.

Battery light came on yesterday, now this morning all gauges drop/radio goes off for a minute or two then come back up. Truck runs fine, I just drove it about 20 miles. I figured if the battery or alternator were bad, it would have quit running in that amount of time.

I suspect the battery is bad, won't hold a charge.

Go over to the parts store and get the alternator and battery tested, free.

Jackie-06 150-dash drops to zero

Thank You for the Reply. I was worried about the battery after I got stranded with the alternator issue. But it started great after the repairs, even with the -0 Michigan winter. But I will check it!
It also ran perfect when the gauges dropped recently. I was even pulling a trailer and it didn't hesitate. Made me think it might be electrical. Thanks again! I will update.

I just got back from Auto Zone, battery and alternator checked out ok.

Also found out that I lose power windows and locks when I lose power to the gauges.

A good side note though, I tore into the dash yesterday and it looks like I got my flashing odometer display is fixed.

EDIT: Pulled the backseat out, BCM is clean and dry. The troubleshooting continues...

After doing more research, looks like the culprit could very well be the gauge cluster. I found this place online and they list fixes for what looks like every problem we have. http://clusterfix.net/?level1%5B%5D=...product_filter

Just an update. I found out my Battery was indeed bad, the new alternator was compromised by it too. Running Voltage Jumped between 13.4 to 15.8 volts. Very erratic. Both are replaced with new and my truck is running perfect. Hope that info could help someone out. Thanks again for the replays everyone sent.

Glad you got it fixed, and it was an "easy" fix.

Would have been a beast if you started replacing the cluster and all and found out that it was not the problem!
