Really?

They intended the light as a cargo light and the color was determined by law. Tinting or smoking it may bring it more into line with what you like, but to a manufacturer .... the tint or smoke cuts down on light output and thus, reduces it's usefulness as a cargo light.

It's not a required light, you can remove the bulb and paint the lens black.

I wish that were the case everywhere. I failed two different state inspections in NC for having a blacked out, LED 3rd brake light. The first time, I didn't know better. The second time, I forgot to put the stock one back on before I went. I made them show me in writing. Sure enough, in the state inspection manual, word for word about not be able to have tinted tail lights or 3rd brake light and that the 3rd brake light must be functional.

The cargo light is NOT the 3rd brake light. 2 separate things, sharing a housing.

Perhaps I should read the entirety of the post before commenting. Haha. My bad. I'll be leaving now.

I've never been bothered by third brake lights looking one way or another. My truck is white, so I have no intentions of doing anything to it, but the lights have never bothered me on any truck haha.

Looks good though and I definitely thought you meant smoking cigs again!
