Ordered at cowlends.com, want the cowl black again...

My cowl ends did the same thing most of these things do, and simply disappeared. I ordered my pieces from cowlends.com and am waiting for delivery. While I am waiting, I am wondering, after the lift / tires, the cowl is pretty much WAY up there in the air... I want to treat my cowl with Showroom New black and get it looking good again... How can I get to it without killing myself or my truck? I am considering laying a movers blanket over the hood / fender, and using a small ladder to get up there where I can work on it more easily...

I use a small scaffolding for working like polishing etc.

But I just climb up on my 35"s and I can reach it just fine or open the door and go from that angle.

The tire is quite useful for me.

I think he's looking for something a little more stable. You gotta be pretty nimble to use the tire

If it can be removed somewhat easily like beech said, that may be it. But that would require something else to get at the connections and everything. And I don't know if I'd want to remove mine cause of how brittle it looks, too sun destroyed.

I knew using the tire was out of the question for ya! Haha

Got the cowl ends on today. Will have to wait for the delivery of a new bottle of Showroom New. I ran out. Decided to do it in place... Getting kind of scared to pull on that plastic for fear of breaking it...

I am REALLY liking the fit / finish of these replacement ends. Ford is extra stupid for failing to make replacements available. And these appear to be better made than the OEM units. I sure hope they keep them in production for some time to come... This fits a real need on these trucks.

I honestly don't even mind that mine are gone, doesn't really hurt anything. But I have contemplated buying some just to support the folks that went through the trouble to develop the cowl ends, make them properly, and keep them affordable.

Well, the missing cowl pieces get on my nerves. I paid a big bucket o money for my truck, yeah it was a long time ago now. But I don't want it to go to waste...

I understand that, it bothered me when I bought mine and they were missing. I'm surprised I don't mind that much now, crap like that usually gets under my skin and it ain't long before I can't stand it any longer.

But regardless, I wanna see before and after pics with the new pieces and the Showroom New. I'm not liking how all my plastic trim looks

Not exactly before before, but I have before adding Showroom New, but after adding the cowlends to my truck.

Not the best photo, but it'll do...

I am eagerly awaiting delivery of my fresh bottle of Showroom New for sure!
