brake pad mileage
brake pad mileage
my rear brake pads were completely wore out at 35,000 miles. Will take the front off today to check. Most of the miles were highway miles. While not a mechanic I have always found rear pads to outlast the front and last well beyond 60,000. what mileage have you experinced front and back?

I concur. I replaced mine early with Thermoquiets since I hated the OEM dust storm, lol.
Been wearing like iron - 45K - fronts are showing more wear than the rears, as you'd expect.
Yours may possibly have been binding, installed incorrectly or have defective media.

The left rear caliper was frozen as we couldn't push it in to create room for the new pads. the left side pads wore down to the backing pad and gouged the rotor. consequently I had to replace the rotor and caliper left side. the right rear pad was almost completely gone but the rotor and caliper were fine. I replaced the rotor anyway.

mine need to be replaced. i have never replaced them but the pads im pritty sure are no longer there and the the routers have a groove worn into it.
You sure those pads haven't been replaced? I drive like a grandma 95% of the time, and tow a boat a half dozen times or so each year and there's not a chance in hell my front pads make it another 50k. Rotors are fine though, but I'm going to change them anyway.
If'n yall don't mind me askin', what rotors y'all plannin' te use there, pardner?
Thankee!

Probably the centric rotors as I'm 2WD, so the conversion to the 4WD rotors would pay off later by getting the centric kit. I don't see any reason for drilled/slotted rotors on our trucks unless you just like the look, it won't give you any noticeable performance increase.
