whos not driving their trucks?
Bought the F150 for long trips with my growing family and boat towing. Want to keep it nice, so I'm driving a 99 Saab 9-3 convertible 5spd manual with 145K to work. Rear brakes went out right after I bought the new-to-me truck, so I drove it for about a month 'til I got time to fix the brakes. Truck gets 17mpg taking it real easy. Saab gets 24 mpg driving normally. It ain't pretty, but it's a fun little car, and I'll drive it 'til it dies. There's not much value in selling it. Also have an '00 S10 ZR2 (14-17mpg) with 160K for hunting. Wife drives an '07 Santa Fe at around 20mpg. I haven't pulled the boat with the F150 yet, but I'm hoping it gets better mileage than the S10 did in that capacity.
No changes for me as far as the '07 itself, I bought it to ride for leisure as much or more than anything else. I bought it to last a long time, guess I'll just buy that gas. I bought it in August 09 and so will have had it three years this coming August, I have put 13,000 miles on it since then. Some hauling, some just riding when I look for a change from a Tbird or .... now with Spring, a Bike or Trike.
I use the '77 about like I did before, hauling heavy / work / etc. as needed.
I have cut back on some of the longer pleasure trips where we'ld take a day and drive to WVa or up north or out to the south west. We really were going so often that it was getting boring, now we look at it with greater anticipation.
I'm ready to start my new part time job since retiring from the state, passed all steps and took the drug test. Just waiting for store manager to call, I'm bored and the $$$ will help with the fun money.

Mine has been sitting for a year since a rod decided it wanted to exit through the side of the block, However I was recently able to buy a replacement engine for him so he will be back on the road in a little while.
Sad to say i have just tucked mine in the garage yesterday. Filled up the tank plump full, so the next time i get in ill be happy to look at my gas gauge, I drive in town and work in town so i get about 9-10 MPG, i know my aftermarket 24''s dont help my cause, Im also creeping up to joining the 100k club about 10,00 miles to go! So i figured id just park it and drive it when its a nice weekend out here and there.
I sadly am driving a 97 dodge stratus that is nice and rusty, But it has 130,000 miles and it has cold a/c and great MPG so im not to upset.
I sure do love driving my F150 Though!!! I'm Sure everyone can agree!

mine is officially tucked away. need to get some fuel additive for it so i dont need to worry about stale gas, but i guess seeing how it is sitting just under a quarter im fine, during the amount of off time that thing is going to have i plan to fix as much rust as possible, sand and repaint frame. body lift, level, whole new front end components, motor swap, or rebuild/w supercharger, and fix random crap that i find along the way. if none of that happens in the next 2 years, its time to sell.
I parked my f150 a month ago I would love to say that its because of gas prices but since im driving a f350 diesel and paying 30cents a gallon more, i will just say i parked it to save the miles
.
Fuel Prices suck but what can we do?
