Build help

whats up? I just registered with this forum and i have been searching for answers but cant seem to find one. I am currently in afghanistan and about to start ordering parts for my 06 fx4.. i have about a 4k budget that im looking at for my truck and i want to level it out and put 35x12.50x20 but i cannot seem to find the answer on what i need for offset and backspace for this set up. It also seems that there is alot of mixed emotions on different leveling kits and sizes to use. Let me know what you think. Im trying to get a pic of my truck up on here for your opinions on my best route to keep it semi streetable and still able to get to the good hunting spots. Looks to... thanks guys sorry for the long post

35x1250x20 = ~1600
leveling kit (2"-2.5") = ~$300 installed

Wheels: need to be stock or wheels with same specs (can't remember them but i'm thinking 5.5" backspacing and no more than 9" wheel, PM wandell)

for tires and leveling kit?

Autospring if you just want to throw a spacer in there ~$70 + install. Or you can do bilstein 5100's and get 2" of level and get a better riding shock up there.

tires: for a MT i like the new(er) trail grapplers, the KM2's are nice but pricey. Toy Mt's are a popular choice and good for onroad tread life, offroad they SUCK. I was seeing no named re-treads out performing them on less built rigs. for an AT the general grabbers and bfg At's are my favorite. The terra grapplers are popular but i'm not a fan if you offroad.

You need a 20x9 rim with 5.5" of backspacing and some Bilstein 5100s for a 2.5" lift in the front and an AAL for a lift in the back

If he wants to level it then he doesn't want an add-a-leaf

The A/T is going to have a lot better tread life than the KM2 for that drive. Are you planning on coming back too?

No Im not coming back to Fort Wainwright but i may have to travel as far as alaska to michigan and then to washington in the worse case scenario... I was just kinda looking into alittle more of an aggressive look.. At the same time i really havent seen many trucks or at least payed any attention to how the BFG A/T look

I'd be more worried about treadlife than looks with all that driving... KM2s are going to be louder also, which might get annoying.

Km2's are quiet compared to other MT's. I barely hear mine on the road and that's with out doors or a top.

I have not driven a vehicle with a better all around MT than the KM2. the only complaint i have so far is the sidewall is weak if you play around in the rocks.

saying that, i'm going with the BFG AT again on this truck for tread life and weight savings over an MT

Let us know how the drive is Are you going to just head south out of Fbx, or you going to bounce down the Atown first?

Another question... whats up with these body lift kits... no good or what it seems that some like them and some hate them

Gotcha. body lifts are a cheap way to gain some tire clearance. They raise your center of gravity and stretch out all your wires and hoses... They're ok for mall crawlers, but I haven't seen anyone run them off road. Most common is using a 3" BL on a 6" suspension lift so you can fit 37s or 38s.
I'd rather just go with an 8" suspension lift though....
