Monotone 2007 King Ranch

So many King Ranch's out there.. Uniqueness can only go so far.. Was thinking about having mine painted completely black and leave the badges the way they are and change all of the stickers out in hopes of finding one or having one made that says "4X4 King Ranch".... I hear talks of the new 2011 F350's are coming out monotone... Any thoughts??

Well, I don't personally have a problem with it, because I would have bought a KR instead of the Lariat if they had the KR's in a solid blue or black. The KR, to me, is all about the interior, not the two-tone exterior since that can be had on any truck. I also wasn't a big fan of the KR h-bar grill. I don't know if it would affect the resale value of the truck, but I doubt it. Most people who didn't by a KR new probably don't know that it was only available as a two-tone paint job and wouldn't discount the price any.

Don't paint...
Line-x it. Looks pretty sweet, and you will never have to worry about it again...

Making it monotone will make it blend in like any other F150. The above is a great example. If he didn't say it was a king ranch, you'd never know without seeing the badge.

I thought about getting a KR, but never like the interior color. Just couldn't do the reddish brown leather. So I got a lariat fully loaded, which is equipped the same as a KR.

The difference is that the KR uses top grain leather instead of bonded leather like the Lariats use. Much more comfortable seats. The options between the two are the same however. Again, there are tons of two-tone XLT F-150's out there, so KR's blend in just the same. The only identifier is if the KR had one of the unique color options that only KR's had.

I also thought that rawhide interior would have looked pretty slick with an all black truck. Sort of a porsche color scheme.

^ yes true, a lot of other 150's are two tone. But most of the time, I see KR's in that copper color, which I thought was only a KR color.

I bought mine for the interior also... Really hate the two tone.. Lariats have the same tone going on also.. I think Ford is starting to catch on now.... Haven't seen a solid color 07 King Ranch yet though... I'm sure they are out there.. Would like to take it back to the Ford place and have them put the oem paint on it..

Last paint job I got from maaco on another vehicle only lasted about 4 1/2 years before it started to fade..

My lariat is one color, not two-tone.

Gotta love the cow hide leather... And the smell of it... You can't get that from plasti leather.. Same options but the seats and the badges make it stand out.. The paint scheme should have been only for a KR...

You wouldn't seriously consider anything you actually valued having painted at Maaco would you??? That's a "wham bam, thank you mam" paint shop. Spent way too many years in the trade and I can guarantee you, a "quickee" paint job done for $250.-$500. IS NOT what you want on anything that is worth more than the paint job! They spend about 20 min. on the prep work, and that is the most important part of the paint job.

Being a KR i would not paint it one solid Color. To me thats part of a KR is two tone paint. If you paint it a solid color then its going to be like any other f150 on the road. Like the 01-03 KR's i can pass one flying down the road at 80 and tell by the color that its a KR.

You'd prob be spending all that money and depreciating the value at the same time, that's a double loss. Not to mention it may be hard to sell down the road. You'd have to find someone that wants a KR monotone which prob won't be an easy task.
