Ok ..... further developments in the saga! Not sure whats going on over there but here goes. I called Mike on Monday , he said everything was ready to ship and it was going out and he would forward a tracking number to me as soon as he got one. I was like cool! Sounds good. So I call back on Tuesday afternoon and he says yeah I have the tracking number right here the shipping company is Saia and the number is 00638657560 . http://www.saia.com/V2/tracing/mnf0....=DCF5033834860

So I tracked it and found it was the wrong number...? So i called him back and said theres something wrong with the number . He said ok Ill check into it and get back with you , I said ok!

So i left it yesterday and decided to text him today and see whats up. he texted me back and said Saia shipped it with their sister company Global Express and the new tracking number is 8329229. Im like ok cool!.

So I scrounge the internet looking for a company called global express that could get that number to work for me and couldnt find anything. So I call up Saia , get a rep on the line. She tells me that they have no sister company called Global express and that tracking number doesnt resemble any kind of tracking number they would use..... She asks me where is the package going , I tell her the adress , she says they have no packages going to that adress. SO... I text mike back and say saia has no info on that tracking number or Global Express.....

He Texted me back saying he was going to look into it.....

So here I sit and wait.......

Freight companies are special. Its not like FedEx or UPS where everything is automated. I do IT consulting for a local one, and a majority of the freight is sorted, loaded, and checked by hand. The other problem is for cross country shipping is usually dealt out to a 3rd party logistics company (3PL) that will schedule the movement of your frieght from carrier to carrier, meaning you could potentially end up with 100 different pro numbers (tracking numbers for those familiar with UPS/FedEx.), 1 for each company along the way.

If they're doing a residential delivery, you're more then likely going to get a phone call from the freight company doing the delivery, to schedule the delivery, because residential deliveries are typically 1 offs, and lower priority.

Ok heres the latest in the Mcneil saga...... So I talked to Mike last week wednesday and he said he would get all this tracking number confusion sorted out. So I gave him some time....like 4 or 5 days to figure it out. I called him this morning and Mark answered (apparantely Mikes outa town) and tells me that the shipping company lost my package and that they had already put another package together and shipped it out yesterday......... Im like ok do you have a shipping number , he says not yet but he will get with me in an hour and have it for me. WTF!!!! So you wanna tell me they put a whole nother package together in a couple of days when it took 3 weeks to make the first one? OMG Im calling bull**** on this one.....

it sounds like they dont have the parts at all. seems like they are just trying to buy time. I would be making calls ever hour until you got a working tracking number. Get mad.

Ok my blood pressure is waaaaay up there. I called Mark , he said hold on Im getting your tracking number. So I hear him punching the keyboard in the background (intentionally?) so he gives me a tracking number, says he just tracked it and its in LA on the way here and all is well. I get off the phone and track it , doesnt work , call him back ... ok Mark the #doesnt work. So he looks at it and says ok i missed a 6 in there. So i track it while Im on the phone and the number he is giving me aint working. So he says he has a computer program that lets him check it and theres probably some reason its not working online. So I say ok ill check it later and hang up.

So I call Saia (shipping company) and get an operator. She tracks the number , doesnt work. So she says give me the adresses where its from and going to , she says no package comes up on either adress. (getting really pissed off now) So I tell her about the lost package , she says it never happened that no package has ever been shipped by mcneil racing or perrys fab n fiber........ So I tell her about his computer program and she says no such thing.......

So I proceed to call Mark back , I blasted him on the phone , told him everything she told me and I thought he was leading me on and effing me around and he needed to come clean or I was reversing my credit card charges. He swore he shipped it and would take care of it when he got back to the office. I told him he had better call me back or I was going to reverse the charges. My blood is boiling .......

Right now it is , SDHQ makes some fenders for the raptor but they are wider than the stock raptor ones. I may just spend the extra cash and get factory raptor stuff but its gonna cost a small fortune!!!!! And Mcneil says the bed is 1 inch shorter than the stock f150 bed, not sure if thats true or not.
