Just stopped by my toy store (my ford parts dept) and picked up my Raptor hinges. They are definitely way different than the 04-08 hinges. These are totally flat where the factory ones hump up at the rear of the mounting surface.

McNeil recommends using hood pins. I was looking around Raptorforumz.com and notice one of the mods used the aerostyle hood pin setup , it looks really clean and works great. Im going to use that style.

It was actually up for almost 20 hours. It looked like they were gonna do the honorable thing and leave it, but unfortunately they cleansed the site... lame.

I'm watching your build closely, as I'm planning to do the same thing with my 2011 Lariat SCrew long bed Ecoboost. But after seeing how things have gone, I've already sourced some front fenders, flares, both bumbers and skid plates. Still need OEM grill and hood, as I'm not too thrilled with the quality I've seen come out of McNeil so far. I still may turn to them for the bedsides in 6.5...

As for suspension, I've got a complete set of OEM wheels and tires, all the springs, shocks and upper a-arms. Still need the lower front arms and a whole rear end.

I must have caught it late then , I looked at it that evening and when I went back it was gone. I guess they cant handle the truth? Yeah the quality is def not there! Im really going to have to massage the rear fenders to make them work , the front of the bedsides is really whack!

Oh and when I opened my rear fender package yesterday I was disappointed to see no T-Shirt as promised, Id like to give McNeil the benefit of the doubt and say it fell out while being shipped Id hate to think they lied to me.....again. I called Mark and he said he'd track the front bumper skirt and get back with me.

Well I spent the afternoon yesterday trimming up the passenger bedside to get it ready to final mount and guess what.....After getting it to line up with the tailgate, the front of the bedside is 1 inch too long! There's a 1 inch gap at the front no way to make it work, so I called McNeil and after going back and forth he says he'll ship me another set today. So we are on to the next phase. I snapped some pics.

Vette,

Keep plugging away at it, but that's why I wouldn't do this project. Too much rigamarole and room for error for me to deal with--my hair would've been grey or half-way pulled out by now.

Look forward to seeing the finished product, I'm sure it will be sweet!

Haha I hear ya , I deal with this rigamarole on a daily basis so its not new to me. I could see someone that is doing this for a first time tugging out the hair in clumps tho. Especially when dealing with a company that one assumes has their stuff together and you wake up to find you're one of their guinnea pigs!

so, does that mean that the bedsides for the 04-08's are the same length as the 09+'s? that they don't in fact need to add an inch to get everything to work?
