What would you do next ?

Ive been modding my 05 Lariat for the past few months and have quite a bit of a wish list pending. Obviously a set of wheels and a lift would make the biggest impact on how the truck looks, Its been easier financially to start modding the truck with some of the smaller stuff, but I feel the truck doesnt say much even with the mods I currently have. What would you do next ?

Here is a list of a the major things I want to get done

20'' wheels w/ 35's along with 6'' Lift

Exhaust (truck currently has flomaster muffler that came with truck)
PTM handles
Ford Back up camera
Saleen Grill
Tow Mirrors
Nathan K5 Horns
Recon Tailgate light
Recon Bed Lights
New Tint job (tints now starting to fade/turn purplish)
Alarm with Remote Start

My order would be

Exhaust (get it outta the way before air horn)
K5
Tint
Grille
PTM handles
Tow Mirrors (I would PTM)
Alarm
Camera
Tailgate light
Bed lights

No reason for this particular order, other than I tried to bundle some jobs close together (I.e., the exhaust and K5s because you will be under the truck for both).

Gonna start something, I know, but anyway--what exhaust set-up are you going with? Stick with the Flows or do something else?

Lol

Yeah, I guess those would go on first, if the money is there...they would begin the noticeable transformation of the truck.

It depends on what it is you want the truck to do for you.

If you are just modding it to post mods, you are throwing money down a rat hole.

This is very true. and usually the case everytime you put a penny into any car/truck. Unless you are using it for a specific function . But mostly I do it for the looks that I like, not so much to post mods.(if you notice, I havnt listed whats been done to the truck.)

If you're getting 35s, you may want to strongly consider putting 4.56 gears on the list right after the lift and tires. Are you 2wd or 4x4?

Oh, I wasn't downiong you for modding the truck, just pointing out that it's easy to get wrapped up in what others like and forget what it is you yourself want. As humans, we crave approval of our peers. I've seen guys do mods simply because they want approval even if only from strangers on the net.

I'm all into mods ..... have been for over 40 years and before that ..... to my bicycles.

I hear you brother. Does it ever end? I can't think of anything I've ever owned that I've left alone/stock. =)

TBear,

I work at a mental hospital and we had a gentleman come in for treatment who had a noticeable level of mental retardation. The one thing he would talk about nonstop was his bike at home, and what he wanted to do to it once he got back home. So the day he got ready to leave I told him he should make some small dual exhaust pipes (with tips), get an iPod and record the rumbling of a true dual truck and loop it while riding. I also told him that he should get some dry ice and throw it into his "pipes" so they would smoke as he rode down the road.

He really thought those ideas were great and couldn't stop talking about doiing that, it made his day. It proves everyone loves to mod their rides
