stx to fx4 dash cluster

i found fx4 dash cluster for my stx for cheap. only problem is its in canada so its in km not miles! i hope this thing works. i dont really care that the the big numbers are in km and small little ones in red are miles- maybe i can get whiteface covers in miles and the sweep would be the same between the two gauges(most likely). i assume the odo will be in km. maybe i can switch this somehow or reprogrammed.

a tach would be great. something ive been missing for some time

As far as I know you CANNOT reprogram the cluster for the miles if the ODO is in KM. My opinion would to be to just look around and get one in Miles. Why would you go through all that trouble just to save a couple bucks when in the end it may not end up working in the first place, then your out the price of that one plus the cost of buying a new one in actual miles

Agreed. Find one with miles. Also find one with the mileage close to yours. Getting the odometer changed on one you buy requires lots of paper work and I was quoted around $400 (unless you know someone). I bought mine when I had 46,000 miles on it and the cluster had around 49,000 (if I remember correctly) I waited until I got to around 48,000 and intalled it. Then you have to make a visit to the dealership to get your cab lights and alerts to work.

But in the end the gauges look great! They go good with my silver STX.

I think I paid around $200 for mine shipped, but that was a while ago! Good job! The install is easy. The hardest part is describing what you want programmed to the dealership.

Edit: Here is my old post that might help: http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/86...er-change.html

I forgot that it added "Theater-style" dome light fading!

I believe you can switch out those little plates to your current selector plate.

Just look at the bottom of the cluster and you will see two tabs. You squeeze the two tabs and pull the plate out. Also this makes it easier when swapping out your old one. You don't have to unhook the gear selector cable.

You need some chrome air vent bezels like i put on mine.

Got all 4 shipped on eBay for $50, and it classed up the truck interior quite a bit. 'Course, my radio has the chrome surround, as well...don't know about your truck.
