Lower the Rear or Raise the Front?
Lower the Rear or Raise the Front?
My truck is an 04 screw, Lariat, White (no two tone paint), chrome bumpers, currently riding on factory 20" rims with 275/55/20 rubber. When i first got my truck I put 22s on it and installed rear lowering shackles. Recently i have been wondering how my truck would look if i put the stock rear shackles back on and put a 2.5 inch leveling kit on the front.
Does anyone have pics of a 2wd screw with factory 08 20 inch rims that have raised the front to level it out as opposed to lowering the rear like i have? Any help is apprciated. Now on to putting l.e.d.s in my interior and deciding what to do with my headlights! With 170k miles i need new lenses since these have 7 years of road debris beating them up, but there are so many options! Thanks

Purely preferrence. Some people like bro-dozers, others like sleek cruisers, and everything in between. I'm a fan of lowering the front. You can retain a truck-like rake and improve the truck's handling.
But that's me. I'm sure the bro-dozer crowd will be posting after me. Just remember, it's personal preferrence.

You already have it level by just lowering the rear ..... if anything, I'ld maybe derop the front for a slight rake.
Problem with dead level trucks is the load goes in back, and then even a light load makes the truck look like it's in pain. What's even worse ...
... is when the front "leveling kit" has the front higher than the rear even unloaded.
It's another opinion.

Thanks, its not dead level, the rear sits 1.5 inches higher than the front so i still have some rake plus i can still tow my boat without my rear dragging the ground, just wondering how it would look is all.
It all depends really on what you are going to do with your wheels/tires IMHO...
If you intend on puting bigger tires and going for that look then raise it up, if you intend on running street tires lower the rear even more!
Since it is a 2wd & you live in Tampa I would say there is not need to raise it up, I like the street truck look! Lowe rit down and throw on soem 22's again!
Yes I live in Tampa and have a lifted 4x4, but I am moving to NC soon so I feel it is warranted! haha

I'm in favor of dropping the rear because it's cheap and won't cause cause premature wear on the front suspension components.
I've also never been too fond of lifted 2WD's or lowered 4WD's. Just a personal preference.

Thanks guys, i am apparently bored and felt a little small after driving to our hunting property in bama next to my friend's brand new F350 4x4. That thing is huge and ridiculously powerful! My truck does have the perfect stance imo, even with the 20s. I got rid of the 22s because I am an attorney and obviously park at court houses a lot and after the third time getting broken into, I toned it down a little. The ride is a little better with this rim/tire combo as well. I guess i will just have to cure my boredom by putting led's in my interior and finding a new set of headlights. I have been reading for hours and hours about led's and headlights but there are so many posts and different opinions that i have a headache!
