Less than $100 for 2 years here in NY. NY goes by weight so my car was cheaper.

I think it's like $26.50 a year now here for most of the vehicles and seems like %32.50 on the 07 PU I think .... the wife pays it.

Of course, I have tags on 3 cars, a Forester, two trucks anda motorcycle and a trike that get renewed each year so that's over $200 total there plus the $200 a year for 8 county stickers.

My trailers have permanent plates and aren't big enough for county stickers and the '74 Trident has permanent antique tag and is also exempt from co sticker.

My plates are $64.30 here in Texas, plus $39.75 for my emissions and safety inspection. Why anyone would choose to live in California is beyond my comprehension -- I've traveled there numerous times for business and simply do not understand the allure.......

I live 4 mi. from the beach in So. Ca. and enjoy some of the finest weather I've ever enjoyed in the US or abroad. You live in Houston and don't understand the allure? I have made a stopover in Houston a couple of times and when I got out of the plane I couldn't even breath because of the heat and humidity. Having said that, there are a lot of things NOT to like about Ca. Or should I say Kaliforni. Welcome to what the welfare queens (and kings) bought us with their vote- 4 more years of a lefty liberal Jerry Brown when we were punished with 8 years of him in the '70's or 80's. Never met a tax that he didn't love. And after unceremoniously dumping Gray Davis in the only recalled Gov. in Ca. history, we were rewarded with RINO A'nold Swartzenager, so the tax beat goes on. Yea, it's not fun! I think my '04 F-150 license is almost what it was when new, because of the Sacramento people that CAN'T stop spending!

Yikes . When I lived in Ontairo my registration was about $75 / year. Once I moved to Nova Scotia it jumped to $275 for 2 year and then when I went to register my truck I found out because it weighs more [registration cost scales by weight here apparently] it costs me about $325 to register my truck for 2 years.

I thought that was robbery - $475 for a year is crazy. Kinda scarey Cali charges that much coin for registration and STILL doesn't have any money lol.

Last year was about $100 here in AL. Just got a notice for renewal at $560!!?? Turned out to be a "clerical error", and after some friendly dicussion was actually $103. Turns out the state of AL says my truck has appreciated $1800 in estimated value in the year and a half since I bought it. Seriously? Some kind of tax man magic that makes my truck more valuable. Like the extra $80 stuck on any motorcycle tag for luxury tax.

At least the weather will be nice when the Democrats have finally regulated and taxed you to the point where you have no other choice but to live under a bridge......

Wonder why yours was $40 for inspection? Here in Austin, I was told it was required for it to be $28 everywhere... And then compare that to FX4life who paid $14 somewhere out in west Texas.
