Well I got it out and only had to move 1 screw. The passenger side appeared to angle slightly up and to the right, but I remember it's parallel to the ground when I'm on a flat surface. About 85% sure that's due to the parking lot I'm in.

Either way, the driver's side is now parallel to the passenger side, so it looks great. Light is sealed up again and I have it clamped and drying.


God I hate RTV sealant.

Put it in this morning and it matches the passenger side perfectly. Turns out the driver's side step is aimed towards the passenger side, so during normal driving (level road) the two steps (driver/passenger) converge into one.

Wasn't intentional but looks awesome. Looks cleaner on the road with just a flat line.

Will try to get pics on my way to work tomorrow.

I notice a big difference in the warm up time too. The old pNp kit would only take about 10-20 seconds to get the bulb fully "warm" and lit up, while the Mori's take a solid 30-40 seconds. Bulbs are a ton brighter too.

So total cost of the build? Anybody want to make me some?

Were the replacement housings you bought OEM or just the cheap eBay ones?

Headlights were $100 shipped off eBay. Not OEM but they feel to be about 95% of the quality. I don't expect to have any problems from the headlights themselves.



I'll try to break down cost based on this picture:







  • Corded Dremel: $70
  • Dremel Kit: $20
  • Black RTV Sealant (2 packs): $12
  • Regular Silicone: $4
  • Drill Bits: $5
  • Screws: $1
  • Black Markers: $1
  • Ratchet Straps (Box of 4x10ft): $15
  • Chrome Turn Bulbs: $15
  • HID Kit (Stage III): $325 ---(Just looked....down to $295 now)
  • New Headlights: $100 shipped
  • Can of Compressed Air: $4


So currently if you have all the tools you'd need it would run about $400 for the kit and spare headlights. If you use your own headlights then only $300.


I'd estimate it took me about 10 hours total to do this. Had to split it up over several nights, though, because I'm temporarily commuting an hour to work both ways. If you had a free weekend, though, you could knock this out in a Saturday and let them re-seal overnight to be ready Sunday morning.
