stop light to stop light.........

gotta love a good tune........

I was side by side with newer dodge. New body style........with "Hemi" badge.
No idea if we were comparing apples to apples ?????
gear ratio? etc???
we were both 4X4 crew cabs though........
we went stop light to stop light.....and hit 2 green lights.
I had him by a solid 2 lengths.....by the time we were coming to 3rd light.

My truck is 2008 FX4 super crew 3.73....18"wheels ........I was running PHP 87 performance.....Magnaflo duals...with K&N CAI.
Don't know exactly what he had.....but he was a new Dodge Crew with Hemi.???

If it was a true legit race for 3 lights?.........he was not very impressive.

And from what I have heard about all the rusty chrome and squeeks and rattles on Dodges............you couldn't give me one!

If he was trying to beat you, he would. Trust me. I owned a Dodge hemi before my f150. He would blow your doors off.

Why would any normal man run me that hard.........but feather his throttle to loose.....for no good reason????
I would love to understand that????

I have driven several Dodge's with hemi's..............and have never been impressed by them. I do believe they seem fast.......but really aren't that.
I also believe Ford 5.4's do not seem fast........but with good mods and tuning......actually work extremely well.

+1 to that. The average f150 is good at lots of things but stop light racing isn't in that list.

Yes Ive had the gryphon...and the KN CAI. And the php tunes. The Hemi still wins. Ive owned both. I know what Im talking about on this one (one of the rare cases) He was toying with you. My wifes Honda Odyssey can almost beat my truck.

I have tunes also and its night and day difference. But IMO the trans is what hinders our trucks performance. Only 4 gears and the spread between them and lack of rear end ratio. And I'm not saying you didn't beat him, just saying I don't think of my truck as quick compared to some others I've driven.

The Dodge gets a terrible rap for their trans....and the gap between gears......even though they are 5-speed. Do some research.......you will see. They short shift themselves and have wide gaps between 2-3........terrible performance!
And when you hook em up to a 7000lbs trailer.......their shortfalls are really magnified!

HEMI"s are OVERRATED.........but only by Dodge lovers. True motorheads know that they are a very average OHV pushrod V8.....2 valve old school motor. Plain ****.......with hemi shaped ports in the heads.......nothing special.....certainly not a 426 hemi LMAO.....

LOL - how could I take pics?

....spur of a moment by myself while driving? camera phone!

I don't need to prove anything........I've driven every truck on the road many times........Chevy's , Ford's , Dodge, Nissan. Toyota......
I am a company fleet manager......we have 175 trucks in our fleet. I know how they all run.......and I know what custom tuning does as well. Like I said....Dodge trucks with Hemi are not impressive............LOUD but not fast!
