"Ford spokesman Wes Sherwood said in a statement Wednesday that the recall covered trucks built at the Norfolk, Va., assembly plant from November 2004 through June 2005."
---
My '05 was built in Norfolk on July 26, 2005. This is after the recall covered dates mentioned.
By the way, I never had any problem with the air bags or the warning light.

I just heard this within the hour on CNN and looked first here on our site to see if recall info was available, but it wasn't. I called Ford's 800 customer service number and eventually found that even their people were not yet aware of this recall. I was able to give them my VIN and find that there are no other open recalls on my truck (06 Lariat) but this airbag recall was news to them.
They pointed me to www.flmowner.com as a website where anyone can run their VIN number to check on recalls. The Ford customer service woman did say the recall could be date specific, plant specific, etc. etc. that just because the media reports a recall of "05 and 06 model F150s" doesn't mean everyone's truck is involved.
Finally she told me to wait at least a couple days before trying the above website because the info is still so new...

They recognize this because they have to. If it weren't a safety issue I would have to second guess this recal.. As much as I am NOT a Toyota fan I do feel that they do a better job at trying to rectify issue with their trucks. I am not running to my local Toyota dealer to buy a Tundra so please don't flame me. Just giving my opinion
