Well it's 4PM and my truck has just arrived at the collision repair place and so I wont know till Monday what the adjuster has to say about the damage.

To answer some others questions, I could not get a good picture of my truck until they moved the other car so I didn't take any pictures until it had been towed away.
it was too difficult to see under the hood so i am not sure what damage may have been done to the motor. I know the trans cooler is up front in front of the radiator and both of them where damaged also the right frame rail is damaged.

I did a Kelly blue book search to see what my truck would be worth and the retail value was $25,000.00, and that is not counting all of the upgrades I have done. so if this is what they use for value then I don't think they will total it.

Oh Yeah, They can fix that.

A guy turned in front of me 3 years ago. I hit him at 50mph, glanced off him and hit the first truck in line sitting at the redlight.

Destroyed the front of my truck and the bed on my drivers side. Niether of my doors would open so I had to climb out the window to get out. LOL Had to be hauled away on a flatbed.

Funny my airbags didn't deploy.

Long story short. My damage added up to $10,800 bucks.

Take it to the Ford dealer and get it done right. My truck looks and drives as good as before.

After its repaired at no expense to you, make sure the insurance company also pays you for "Diminished value".
Nice truck you have there! It'll look good again

Good Luck

Its hard to tell from your photos but from what I can see you may have bent the front frame rails. If its minor then it most likely could be repaired, but anything more then that you'll definately need a whole new frame. That may push the truck over the totalled edge sorry to say.

Not all states have "Diminished Value". It is a state by state thing. The state of Ca. doesn't and my wife was hit a # of years ago and almost totaled her car (only 2 years old at the time) and NO DMV and I was hit (rear ended at about 35 MPH (at least)) and totaled the other car and again NO DMV. My truck ('02) was only about 15 mo. old at the time with 13k mi. on it. You people who live in states that have it are fortunate because when a dealer sees any amount of $ on a Carfax accident on a vehicle, they aren't very interested in even taking it in trade, no matter how well the vehicle was repaired.

Thankfully , Bent frame rails don't mean total loss anymore. On our trucks there is a welded joint in each frame rail in about two feet back from the front. The Ford dealership had to cut mine off there on both sides and install new front pieces. I never new of this before my accident.

I learned alot by going to the dealer every few days and watching the progress of the repairs to my truck. I took lots of pics. I need to find and post a few on a new thread. It was a scary time for me.

Too bad about the diminished value in some states. Hopefully he lives in a state that allows it.

Did you cry?

If it had been me I likely would have, looks like how it hit would not have even hit on my grill guard.

Hope you get it fixed.

Did I cry? I haven't stopped since last Saturday.
Today the insurance company said they where going to Total it!
They had already called a salvage company to come and get the truck, I told the adjuster "that will not happen! I would view it as steeling my truck from me and I would fight back".. then I said the truck is worth too much to say this minimal damage is a total loss, she asked if I would give her a list of the upgrades I had done and if the value was high then it would make sense to fix it. She called me back a half hour later and said " your truck has held it's value quite good! it is worth $26,700.00 so it is definitly going to be fixed
WOOOOOOW! that was close..

GOO.... I'm sorry this happened to you.

But on the bright side it's a perfect time or excuse to make some changes!

I feel your pain man. 1 month after buying my first HD it was totalled when some arrogant sob wasn't paying attention to driving and swerved in my lane. I don't have any pics but this one when it was in the wreck yard the next day. Happened Super Bowl night at like 1 a.m.

^Those tires had less than 1500 miles on them =(

I was beyond upset. Made about 8 grand off of it though =D

i was going to say, if they total that, then theres something wrong. about 3-4 months ago i was drunk and had a designated driver hit a concrete culvert, then went into the woods about 50 ft. and smoked 3 trees. at the time there was 91k on my truck and the total damages came up to $11,178.92 and i got mine back. kind of surprised me really.

Looks like the Air Bag busted the windshield. The 1st. time I saw it I couldn't believe that the AB had that kind of force, but have seen it many, many times since. I knew there wasn't anyone else in the car because these were often 1 man patrol cars, but pretty much always only one person in the car, whether black and white or "other". That probably doesn't happen much anymore with the "smart air bag system".

Repair Quoted

Well I got a copy of the quote aaaannnddd, It is $13,050.00. they will change the front section of the frame and all body parts up front ( hood, grill, both fenders, bumper, lights)
they are saying four weeks from when the parts arrive? not sure but could be two weeks to get the parts.
Dam, I miss my truck! hertz got me a 2010 GMC Acadia crossover? it's kinda nice but not what I would choose. this may be for another thread but why cant rental company get you the rental car you want or chose out of their fleet? they tell me if you ask for a Ford F150 then you will most likely get a Toyota tundra. if you ask for a Toyota tundra you will get a Dodge ram..Pisses me off!
I wanted a Ford F150 2010. they say they have them in their fleet?
