Added a 1/2" spacer. Yes, only 1/2" ha. The thickness of the spacer was about 1/4".
Anyway, it ended up lifting me about an inch. Prior measurements (from center of center cap to wheel well arch) were 22" up front and after installation I was at exactly 23".
I'm fine with it. Had 3.5" of rake before (2.5" rear blocks) and now I have 2.5" of rake. I've kind of been going up and down for a while now trying to get the stance how I wanted it. I think I finally have it.
From what I've learned, you cannot go by the advertised amount of lift the spacers state. Some give more, some give less. If you want to go up 2", depending on the truck, a 1" or 1.5" spacer will get you there and the 2" will give you more than you expected.
Here are the before and after shots. It's barely noticeable in these pics, but I gained 1" up front. Front is now 23" exact, rear is 25.5".
Got the white truck a new head unit and installed that.
Also getting ready for the sub box I'll be building soon took the seats out to get a more accurate measurement for the box and going to be starting the sound deadening the whole truck sometime this week.
Might have lost her. Went home for a run since my friend gave me some old scrap wood. After I got off the highway she started acting just the slightest bit odd and I first was thinking I couldn't have got that distracted but hoped I'd snagged a bushy branch by the sound. The sound started very very suddenly. After I confirmed a negatory, I limped the truck the few miles to my town, in which she acted increasingly erratic and gutless. The truck was so loud I could hardly stand to give her much gas, probably as well since i didnt want to accelerate the issue. There was also a bit of a tick. I began to think maybe the exhaust had let go but I didn't think that long. By the time I got to my town I knew I wasn't risking the extra mile and the big hill and parking her at my project house instead.
By the time I shifted gears a couple times to back in, I was nervous to do so with how erratic the idle was, and the V8 sounded like a malfunctioning 2 stroke single cylinder and seemed to struggle to back the truck into the driveway, and at that point there was an overwhelming smell of burning fluid in the cab. Check engine light is on, oil is fine, temp was a bit low which shold rule out a coolant issue. Could not detect any spillage of any kind. Anything else using fluid works perfect and of course a burning leak should not cause the noise or decreasing power.
I'm no world class ford mechanic so maybe there is, but I know a fair bit about trucks and I can't think what would cause all 3 of those systems that's a minor repair, so I'm wondering if it might be "time"

That's too bad! Get the codes that threw the cel,
Probably the best place to start. 104k is not a lot of miles on that engine. A friend has an 05 with over 200k and it's still going strong.
I know you got the truck used though, so the maintenance history or lack their of could be key.

I know. Those 2V tritons are borderline immortal. But you get lemons with any mass produced item. Previous owner looked after the truck quite well.
At any rate, me and mom had to get back in town, so her boyfriend came and got us and I left my key with a local guy I know who pretty much knows trucks like his hand and helps us sometimes. He's going to check it out. His son is a pro mechanic who owns a full fledged garage, so he should be able to fix it if it's too much work for his dad.
I painted the inside tailgate cover with Rustoleum truck bed coating this weekend...
The paint started peeling on mine several years ago, so I stripped the remaining peeling paint, and re-did it...it looks pretty good. I guess I need to do the rest of the tailgate now...
Gonna take the truck in on thursday to get the transmission OD snap ring fixed. Lost OD a couple of weeks ago...
Well, upon inspecting it first hand in the daylight, the problem seems to be around the manifold flange, not where the manifolds meet the engine. Simpler fix.
Going back in town late tonight instead of tomorrow......60 miles or so in her present condiyion, and an almost unbearably loud truck in traffic might attract unwanted attention....
Today I went and bought a little upgrade to the door speakers for the white truck. Figured i might as well since I won't be done fiber glassing my other door panels and getting my 6.5s done any time soon. They sound 100x better then stock.
Also Installed a hifonics 1100.1D amp and put in my 12in L7 and 10in L7 just for some bass until I start the box for the 2 18s.
Went to Merchants tire here in Manassas to get my oil changed and tires rotated, saw the condition of my front tires and decided to have the guy move my rears to the front and get new Coopers in the correct size for the rear (LT275/65/18), cost me $396 for the two tires plus the oil change, judging from how black the oil was, I was overdue .
Now all I have to do is put the correct size on the front, currently have a pair of used P255/70/18 that came off a Jeep .
