Yes, and pretty much dittoed what you did which was very helpful.
Thanks for the writeup, even though it's been awhile!

Oh, and ended up ordering some new 265/70/17 LT BFG KO/2's. Will have them mounted and balanced in the next couple weeks and post of some pics. I was looking at the Cooper AT's and the Hankooks but liked the price
I ended up getting the BFG's. Tired of slipping around in the winter and hope these live up to the hype. They do meet the severe snow traction performance rating so will save me from buying dedicated winter tires which I was
considering.

Glad to help!

Good call on the tires. I had a set of cooper discoverer At3 it that size. I didn't like them much at all. Not the best in snow and they were really loud on the highway. The Firestone destination at I had prior were better, so I went back to them with no complaints.

Washed and polished her.
Used Meguiar's Quik Detailer as I ran out of my Adams Detail Spray. Meguiar's did okay but certainly took more to buff out than Adam's.

Still been running into leak issues with that tire.....Idk if it's the valve stem still causing trouble, further issues with the tire or both, but enough is enough. I don't like knowing there's 2 plugs in it either. Next Monday she'll be wearing 32" coopers, the biggest tires she'll have ever had to my knowledge.

Are you going with 265/70/17 discoverer AT3? If so, not to be a downer, but I had those exact tires (LT load C) for my last set. They're weren't awesome in the snow and they were much louder on the highway.

However, if you're getting them used and getting a good deal, they do have good tread life and obviously anything is a step up compared to what you're dealing with now.

They're 265 discoverer M+S. Had them a while now, had them for my old 99 f-150. They cost a trade of some fishing hooks, haha. They've got a good bit of life left.

Considering the tires I had took off this truck this past spring were almost completely worn out and had metal showing in some places and there was still no stopping the truck in snow, I'm not too worried in that regard.

Got the new tires mounted, balanced and installed this morning. Not the best pics but it'll give you an idea.

Thanks!
I was concerned the ride might be harsh and/or noisy but it's not the case. Cannot hear anything on these but I haven't taken it on the eway. Handle great and really not much different feeling than my old highway treads. I think the stiffer sidewall on the LT will be an improvement over my old Geolander's as well.

Looks great! Those should do well in snow! Curious, what made you go with the load E? And what psi are you running them at?

Makes me miss having 265/70/17s! My mileage did improve decently switching from an LT265 to a P245, but they just look so small to me. 255/70/17s will be had next time.

Yup. Gotta love good deals. I don't worry about the looks of that truck, but nonetheless curious to see those tires on her.

The current tires were $75, and it's not the tires fault something managed to break through it plus the other 3 are still in near perfect shape with lots of life left, so that's not bad either.

Started ordering parts for my front end rebuild. Also determined that my transfer case is what's locking up in 4x4 so I need to source one of those too.

Thanks.
The tires are load range C and Discount aired them to 35 psi.
I expect to lose some mpg's with these and will compare next fill-up. I was getting around 16.8-17 combined with the old tires.
