AS 2 1/2 powder coated kit?

How does the powdercoating hold up? Is it gonna rust or not? I live in Ohio, so it's a concern for me. Thanks

Depends on what you are powder coating and how good the application of it was. I have seen it peel off after only one Winter season. The salt they use on the roadways here can eat up almost anything if you don't keep after it. The wear and contact that the AS lifts experience will cause the coating to get worn and once that happens its only a matter of time. I stripped and painted mine with a rust inhibitor but can not remember what brand I used. However they still rust.

As I live in the south I do not have to deal with salted roads. They just freeze a couple times a year and we are not prepared for it so people crash all over the place, quite comical. Anyways I have the 2.5" AS powder coated and the finish has held up so far to "normal" abuse. I can not comment on the salt, but regardless the PC is a step in the right direction, but as others have stated some preventative maintenance would go a long way.

You know, that AS level piece is made from 1/4" plate steel. By the time it rusted enough to compromise your suspension, everything else under there would be rusted all too hell too! Your truck would be a classic and some kid from the neighborhood would be calling you "Pops" or "oldtimer". BTW I live in Michigan and I'm not worried in the least about my AS 2.5" with PC, don't you worry either...Good luck.

Yeah, I have the 2.5" AS, seems like a real sturdy kit, go for it!
