PIAA or Sylvania light bulbs????

I want to replace my light bulbs (heads and fogs) but im debating which of the two such I get. I know a couple members here run sylvanias but I havent heard of many running PIAAs...which ones do yall think would be the better choice??

I jus want a "whiter" light, not a fan of HIDs....

I have never ran anything other than silverstars and I am satisfied with them, but I have never tried the other brand though

YES. If you upgrade to 9005 fog bulbs over the stock 9145 bulbs you will see a night and day difference (literaly).

are you talking about the Sylavania Silverstars, or just regular sylvanias????
if you are they are way better than stock. I used to have them, but I did have to replace them about every 3-4 months. don't know why they would blow so quick.
now have HIDs.

I had 9005s in my fogs for a while, then one of them blew up. I ended up replacing the fog light housing.

Why was the whole housing replaced?

I'm assuming you had the 9005's in your fogs, correct?

They [9005's] simply don't last in the fogs.... they're also not the recommended replacement by Sylvania. I had them in my fogs for three months at best and they fried within two days of one another.

I switched over to the 9145's in my fogs almost 12 months ago.... they're still going strong. They're not as bright as the 9005's were, but, at their price, longevity is the prioity to me

FYI, I'm running the 9008's in my heads and, coming on two-plus years, they're still going strong.

I'm running the PIAA Xtreme White Plus bulbs in my heads. It's much better than the stock bulbs. I think you're doing the right thing by staying away from HIDs.

That is how they get the whiter output, they run them hotter, which is why they are only supposed to last a year. They will degrade to yellow after a year or so. But if you don't mind the $20 bill once a year, its not a bad alternative to the HID conversion route...

I noticed mine were going yellow after 6 months...I will replace when they blow...Not a big mod guy, so I stick with the stock stuff...

How smart is Sylvania, "lets give them bulbs that last half as long as standard and charge them twice as much, brilliant..."
