The headlamp bulb is PIAA 19618. I'm running the stock bulb in the fogs. I've heard too many complaints about the lens melting with higher wattage bulbs.

I understand they still don't make the silverstar ULTRAs for the 04-08 F150?

I wonder why?

I have the PIAA extreme white plus headlights and the MTEC super white 9145 fogs. The fogs are just a little bluer than the PIAA's, but not too noticeable. I've used both PIAA's and silverstars in my previous cars and never had any problems with either, I just decided on the PIAA's this time around.
I have had the MTEC's in 3 months before I got my PIAA's and would never drive with both on because the stock headlights were just too yellow.

Here is a pic but in reality they are much whiter.

yeap, had 9005 in my fogs, they did burn thru the housing a bit. never lasted more than 4 months. Should try the 9145 they are the correct bulbs for the fogs
the head lamps did never burn though, they to were silverstars also

They make them for the alternate 9005 for the fogs, don't get them. They lasted me maybe 2 and half months.
They were nice and bright white though

What I meant to say is you can't get the ultras for the headlights.

Any problems with the MTECs burning through? Where is a good place to buy the PIAAs and the MTECs? And last question, maybe, is the PIAA/MTEC combo a noticeable improvement over stock? Thanks.

The PIAA heads are an improvement over stock. I forgot where I bought mine. I know Auto Barn and Summit Racing handle them. I'm thinking I got mine from Summit. Can't help on the fogs.

I can't say this loud enough!! DO NOT put the 9005 bulbs in the small round fog lamps !! They WILL melt the lenses, they run too hot for that small area.

We don't have much choice in bulbs for the round fog lamps unless you want to put in a capped HID bulb, but, that's a different animal entirely !
