Was it the Roush package that made you key my truck?

my truck costs more than my entire 15 months in Iraq...money well spent in my eyes. i figure i spent so much time overseas for this country i should invest in an American machine that i can be proud of to put the memorial decal on of the guys in my platoon who where killed.

i wonder if it would be easy to somehow rig tiny cameras to record all 4 directions of the truck to a hard drive...
Thank you for your service to our Country! Drive Ford Trucks for Life!....

That sucks man...I don't understand people any more. No more honesty or integrity. My truck got hit in my work parking lot last week. No note. No nothing. Just a big dent in my tailgate.

This past Friday a kid open his door and hit my door. His dad saw what his kid did and he looked at my door and walked away. I was standing outside by the shade waiting for my wife so I do not think he knew that was my truck. When he went inside burger king I walked to my truck and see a spot on my door. I was able to buff it with my shirt and some spit, but you could still see small scratches up close. I remained calm as I walk into BK and told the guy straight up to his face that his kid did hit my door, he apologized then I walked away..I really felt bad for the kid because I had a strong feeling his dad was going to let him have it when they got home. That man got his food and took off...It could have been ugly but I am working on my "short temper" so I walked away......
It is not worth going to jail for if you caught them in the act but I too would be upset...That is messed up the way your truck was scratched, definitely intentional, not an accident.. Hopefully it won't put you out of a truck for a long time while at the body shop. Morals and values are going down fast in this world...

Well thanks for all the replies and information/shared stories. There is a decent amount of info in this thread now and a general consensus that there are alot of people out and about that seem to have lost respect for themselves and others.
I personally think people have gotten soft. I mean if I did truly **** someone and they felt the need to do something to get back at me, I see it as being extremely weak/sad/childish to take it out on property and not me. I would like to think that back in the day the person would have walked up to me and said something, or thrown a punch. I would have appreciated either of those much more.

Anyways I went on a overnight backpacking trip out in BFE to clear up my head and I think I'm good now. Irritating as it may be, it will work itself out here shortly. I'm glad I have a Daily Driver as I feel kind of embarrassed driving the truck like this, people seeing the damage and obviously knowing someone got one over on me.
Appointment is tomorrow so I'll report back with a estimate.

-Brandon

I have read this thread 4x's now to add something useful. I just get too pissed when i see the pictures.

FYI, if you are at a grocery store, and you notice a scratch, see if it lines up to a cart. I don't believe the OPs does because of the curve it has. Anyway, I have seen carts do ALOT of damage. If it lines up and there are no cameras, the store should pay something.

My friend had his 06 tundra keyed b/c it was like Thanksgiving or something and he took up two spaces. Even though he parked as far away from the store as he could. (He worked at the store)

It sounds like they are going to blend the entire left side of the truck, which is the right way to do it. Let us know if that's included.

I didnt read the whole thread, but I hope everything turns out alright for you. I had my 07 for two months and it got keyed at a party. Luckily my buddy saw the kid doing it and called me up asap. I ran out of the house and caught him by his shirt. He is lucky his friends and my friends pulled us apart so fast. Anyways, turned out he got 3 doors and one side of the bed. I threatened charges (he was an old friend from when I was in grade school and our parents are friends) so he payed for everything!!!

That is what I was going to say, did you park in more than one parking space??

It sucks that you got keyed, but some people (including myself) get irritated when people park sideways across more than one space. I wouldn't key or damage a car that was parked like that but there are people who would.......

Damn... that really is a nasty gash. Whoever did that, knew it would hurt. You can't have anything nice, while also entertaining the hopes that it will stay that way.

Just make sure the Body Shop warranties the work!
