Was it the Roush package that made you key my truck?

wow man, i honestly feel a mixture of sickness, sadness, and anger just looking at those picks. i would have deffinetly end up in jail if i ever caught someone doing that to my truck. just smile at the thought that you can reasonably fix a paint scratch, but whoever did it is gonna have a lot harder time fixing the messed up issues they obviously have in their life

How close is the grocery store to your home and do you have any teenagers you have irritated who know where you live and what you drive?

By irritated I mean complained to their parents or given them evil stares or something similar.

Sorry to see that done to your truck. My '04 was keyed from the front door all the way back to the tail light. I don't understand what would possess someone to do that. Likely someone who has never had nice things so wouldn't understand what it is like to have those things damaged.

I also had a $500 deductible and lowered it to $100 after my truck was keyed.

The body shop that did the work on mine did a great job and they were even able to duplicate the factory orange peel so you couldn't even tell where the repair work was done.

Good luck with the repairs!

Its about 5 miles.
Nope, no irritated teenagers. There are probably only two or three teenagers in my neighborhood and 2 of them are girls and the one guy loves my truck and his dad, him, and I golf together.

Damn, horrible to hear, but at the same time I'm glad it was able to be repaired to match. I'd bet when you lowered it you realized it was just a couple bucks more... I should have done it earlier, shame on me I guess.

I just don't even understand how a person could physically scratch something that deep, with or without motive. The motive thing is a whole other unexplained crap story. Sorry man.

Maybe this person works in the auto body industry and needs the work?

My neighbors all came up to me while I was mowing the yard and were shocked at the damage.
The driveway king has a bit of a blemish now. I'm the second house from the corner leading into the neighborhood so everyone passes it (and usually me waxing it)..

Anyways, one of them was saying that they had their car damaged (someone kicked in a fender) and the paint shop painted the damaged panel and then blended the paint onto the adjacent panel and cleared them both. So maybe I'll get a good amount of new paint.

That stinks. I don't care if I had zero deductible, I would be extremely angry. I probably would not go back to that store, but that's just me. To many crazy people out there for a repeat performance.

Sad to see that. I work in a bodyshop and see this sorta thing atleast once a month. As of today we have 2 "key" jobs that make yours look good. I'm talking f350 dully with every panel keyed minus the roof, and its a longbed. I've also done some with profanity keyed into every panel, including the roof. And they used like 3 keys in one hand, becuase there were 3 lines all around the car. lol that was a sucky week for me.

If your truck is black, the shop shouldnt have trouble matching the color or the factory orange peel. Depending on the insurance company, we might not blend black. Its mostly down to the buffer to get it to look right. Even if its a little too shiny, "normal" people will never know it was worked on. Since you say you are familiar with your truck, you will probably always notice that it got painted, but other wont.

I know it sucks, but it could of been 10x worse.

FML thats deeper than deep. If i were you i would say f-it and get it all repainted as an act of triumph

it must have been a younger kid, they typically don't appreciate the value of things and how much work it took to acquire them.
my truck costs more than my entire 15 months in Iraq...money well spent in my eyes. i figure i spent so much time overseas for this country i should invest in an American machine that i can be proud of to put the memorial decal on of the guys in my platoon who where killed.

i wonder if it would be easy to somehow rig tiny cameras to record all 4 directions of the truck to a hard drive...
