Looking to get an f150, and I'm trying to get this truck!

05 FX4 Supercrew, 75K miles, 3" lift, 33" tires, 18" wheels. DVD player, hard bed cover, pretty nice truck over all.

They're asking 17.9K, what do you guys think?

I would think more in the $15,500 range. The mods should not increase the price at all.

Do you think the dealer will budge on the price at all?

Dealers will nearly always come off the asking price. They expect to have to deal some, so they intenionally price it high. They know they can come off a price but they can never go up.

It is a nice looking truck and I agree with Bluejay....... dealers will always come off the asking price. Tell 'em the economy is in rough shape and that you'll give them $14,900 for the truck. Personally I wouldn't give them more than $15,500 and that's assuming that it's in good mechanical/visual condition for it's age.

I paid 15,500 from a private owner in Dec 08 for my 05 FX4 screw. leather, black on black. Rhino liner, billet, flowmaster duals. it had 42k miles with new brakes.

My opinion is that most private owners are looking to just get the value without profit. Dealers buy cheap and sell high.

With that many miles.. I would not go over 15k and it would need to be very clean for me to spend that.

Remember for every truck you pass up.. there will be 10 more to look at.. and that is the fun part.

No dont offer your upper limit first. Offer 14K if your upper limit is 15K.

Good luck. Just make the offer and walk, tell them you will shop around. They will call you later.

Thats too high for the mileage.

I recently got a 2007 F150 XLT Scab 4X4 with 30K miles for $17,600

That truck should be "gettable" for around $high $13-$15K MAX!
