How far is Durham NC to the Outer Banks? My wife and I were thinking of relocating to the Carolinas? We would like to be about an hour or less from the beaches. BTW love the pic's thanks for sharing

To the outer banks you're talking 3-4 hours. To Topsail Island it's only about 2 hours. You've also got Asheville in the mountains about 4 hours west.

Take a look at the Raleigh area as well. I relocated here from Detroit years ago and love it!

I'll be on topsail next friday and can't wait! If I could only find a police dep. hiring down there I'd move back tomorrow!

No im not from Hawaii. Hawaii was my paradise found... My wife and I went a couple times for work sales trips. I would Highly recommend hoping into a car and just drive the island it is incredible. Will you be visiting any other island?

with the rules about no night driving, how did you get on the beach for the camp fire? i thought all beach driving was banned at night.

We just walked across the dunes, the campsite is only like 200 feet away from the beach. You can drive at night just only up to 10pm, after then you have to be off.

did you stay at buxton woods (looks like it) or frisco woods. frisco has trees for shade, but crazy sand spurs.
