yep, I know OI. we go further south, as the spots we surf tend to be more consistent/bigger. i got spoiled on my last trip. i usually tent camp, but my wife's uncle let us use his pop up camper. having AC was HUGE. i just don't know of any camp sites on HI that have electricity hookup.

Yeah me neither. After being down there I would LOVE to have some sort of camper with AC, its hot to be sleeping in a tent. I've been watching craigslist for a pop up recently

Well I finally made it out to the beach. Not much to drive on, maybe only a 1/2 mile or so.

Next time I'll have to hit Corova Beach, 10+ miles of 4x4 beach

In the 20+ years we have been going to Avon, I bet that on over half of those trips I have seen "only the roof" of at least one vehicle while passing over Oregon Inlet on the Bonner Bridge. It amazes me that all those vehicles were caught when the tide came in.
In 1999 I had one of the first Expeditions released and of course we drove it down to the beach that year. You would not have believed the comments that vehicle recieved.
We are looking for a trip down in September or early Octobe this year.

That's Carova. It goes Duck, Corolla, Corolla Light then Carova 4x4 beach. That's where they have all the cool beach houses.

Enjoy your trip, I'll make it out there eventually!!

NCSU_05_FX4 were you out on the north end of topsail? Kind of looks like the view across new river inlet to Camp Lejeune.

I went out on Topsail this weekend, man it was lame! You could only go out there to fish and there wasn't even any room to drive on. Bright side I got to test out the KM2s in the sand and they did awesome so it wasn't such a waste

I always liked to go to Ocraocke Island lots of room to drive and play on the beach and you have the sound and the ocean right there. Better Fishing at Oregon Inlet, If you can make it past the first 100 yds out there you are good to go. I use to love riding by the jeeps and chevys stuck in the sand in my 150. I miss the beaches in NC between deployments and being stationed in TX havent been to the beaches since I got married there in 06.

Dude, I totally saw you pull into the St. Regis. But I would have had to walk away from my beers... That's one baddass ride you've got there.
