Pirelli Scorpion Tires

I'm looking at upgrading to the stock 20" wheels and a lot of the people selling them have the stock tires on them too. I remember seeing some threads with people having mixed reviews of this tire.

If you have them, or have had them in the past, can you give me your opinion on them? Also, does anyone know the mileage rating for the tires?

Thanks!

There are sooooo many better choices than the Pirelli tires. I did not like mine. They tend to flat spot at the first sign of cool/cold weather. Just a cheap tire IMO.

Go with Nitto Terra Grapplers, Toyo AT's, BFG's. There are so many better choices out there.

I have them. Wet traction is poor, in snow and ice they are even worse. Dry traction is decent. Very smooth ride, once they warm up and the flat spots go away. Climate has a lot to do with the flat spotting these tires suffer from, if you're in south florida, arizona, south texas, I don't think you will have a problem. But colder areas will cause these tires to flat spot.

Just like everyone else said Very Poor in wet, snow, Ice and Mud.
Also poor on wear. I replaced mine with less than 30K miles.
Replaced with Nitto TG, and so far I am very happy!

Thanks. Man, I didn't know the feelings were that unanimous!

So 2006 had to replace his at 30K, what about anyone else? Does anyone know what the tire is supposed to last?

Absolute worst tire I've ever had, next to the Uniroyal TigerPaws on a previous vehicle. No wet traction at all.

I've got 31k on mine. Probably get another 15-20k easy.

I had 38k on mine when I took them off. I could have squeezed another 2-3k out of them.

I have 57K on mine, and they are unfortunately wearing like iron. They look like they will be good for at least 70K. I live in MN, and the flat spotting has never been bad at all. Up until last winter, I would have recommended these tires, against what everyone was saying, but not a chance now. Last winter, they were downright dangerous in any kind of snow or ice. After the second time going down the interstate at 55 and the truck getting no **** sideways on me, they will not see another winter on my truck.

I have the 20" factory wheels and had the Scorpions. They were very quiet! Very! But their traction in bad weather was horrendous! I researched AT's for months and finally settled on the MICKEY THOMPSON BAJA ATZ's in the 305/55/20 size. Best dang improvement I have made to my truck!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was very happy to get rid of mine! I had them on for two winters and the traction was awful in very light snow. As mentioned the first few miles were usually a little rough until the flat spots were gone. They performed fine when it was hot and dry. I don't know how they can be classified as an all-terrain tire though, I had to put it in 4 wheel drive one time to get up a slight slope on my property when the grass was still a little damp one morning. Wet grass isn't a problem anymore with the ATZ's!

The ones on mine flat spot over night no matter what the weather. I rotate EVERY oil change because they feather badly as well.

Got 12k and one winter on mine. Not the best tires but not the worst either.
Hey rms8, Do you have any rubbing issues with the ATZ's? Looks like a what, 2" leveling kit? What brand?
