Level Kit Alignment

Just had my mechanic install the AS 2" kit. He just called and said he can't get it aligned because his machine doesn't have the specs for it. Does anyone understand this? Also where should I go in Houston to get this done?

When I had a 2" AS I had a Ford dealer do the alignment. No problems.

I've got the 2" kit on mine and had 4 wheel parts do the alignment. They had no problems at all getting it in spec.

Did he by chance mention adding the adjustable cam bolts?

I had mine aligned at 4wheel parts when i had my new tires put on. So far so good. I went to the one off of 610 and Fannin, near the old astrodome.

They told me the same thing on my '09. I told them to just align it to '08 spec. All that should need adjusting is the toe. It will be toe-in a little. Apparently not all vehicles point both wheels forward. Some point one of them in or out or something.

I never had any problems having mine aligned, and it's been aligned at 3 different shops over the course of it's life time.

I had mine aligned the same time I had my 33's put on. They added a cam kit to each side since they supposedly couldn't get it in specs. Anyways, so far so good.

Thanks for the help guys. Guess I will go by 4 Wheel Parts next week. One more question. I am getting new tires and rims sometime next week. Should I wait to get the new wheels and tires before I do the alignment?

Get the alignment first. You don't want any scratches on the new rims.

Tires/wheels have nothing to do with alignment. In fact, wait until it is aligned to get the tires put on.

And for the record, the only thing my truck needed with the 2.5 AS kit was a toe adjustment. Not that many specs to worry about.

That was my plan. Alignment first then tires just wanted to be sure.

Alignment isn't bad. But it needs a little work.
